News On Future Films Based on Comics/Paranormal/Sci-Fi

I doubt they follow Dark Knight Returns as closely as they're leading people to believe.
I kind of hope you are right... They won't do it justice if they try to do with the story that MOS had....
It's all just marketing... they didn't even have a plot outlined at comic-con when they made that announcement. I would prefer if they just establish Bruce Wayne as a player in the corporate world and only make references to Batman in this film, do the Batman flick then have the "Batman vs. Superman" flick..

imo a film with 2 of the 3 biggest superheros fighting should be somewhat of an endgame and not a build up to something that's less anticipated. idk Maybe I've been trained by Marvel that you should build these up over multiple films..

I thought the fight he had with him in hush was pretty good....

He put in work with that kryptonite ring..... :nerd:

At the Comic Con panel it's not going to be a TDKReturns movie but more like inspired by the conflict between Supes and Bats.

Still would like to see a harden, give no damns Batman that Frank Miller always has done. The "God Damn" Batman he had in Allstar Batman & Robin would be a nice touch.

You're goddamn right.

In the Ultimate Spider Man episode that the GotG was on, Groot had actual dialogue other than I am Groot. This is the version they're going with imo.

I saw that episode last week, did Groot say something else? I didn't notice it. All he kept saying was "I am Groot" while in that pot and then Spidey through him and he grew and all he kept saying was still "I am Groot".

I feel like Greg Ellis should voice Rocket Raccoon in the GotG film as well. His voice acting was great in U. Spider-Man and his dialogue in UMVC3 is super cool as well

I must not have been paying attention then.

I don't like the Bradley Cooper offer. I don't know about you guys, but in anything other than a comedy I can't take him serious much like Ryan Reynolds.

Hmmm, anyone else turned on a lil bit by the blonde spouting off all those X-Men facts?

(even if she was reading a teleprompter, I was still watchin her anyways)

^You aint the only one. She is a nerd tho.
Nerdy girls can get it with ease! They don't even have to be hot.

Oddly enough I blew it with a hot nerdy girl and havent been the same since. :frown:

I don't mind Vin as Groot or Cooper as Rocket but I feel like Cooper is missing his chance. I thought if I saw his name connected to a superhero movie he'd be in it as the main guy or apart of a team. I think he can still do it even if he voices Rocket though. I'm not sure who he could play but to me, him being open to the movie would make me think he'd want something prominent.

Looking at Limitless and Silver Linings (and the crappy action film that was the A-Team) I can see him fit really well for an origin movie of somebody in Marvel or even DC (if they ever get their **** together).

That blond chick annoys the **** out of me. I hate her voice :x

Completely agree with you on Cooper.

Remember the man was in the running to play Green Lantern at one point. Also, he was suppose to star in The Crow reboot.

Cooper has so much money in his name right now, I hope his first superhero flick won't have him just voicing a character. Cooper would be a nice addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a lead. Maybe Daredevil perhaps?

Yeah Daredevil, maybe Iron Fist, Wonder Man, Captain Mar-Vell, maybe he can pull off a crazy Moon Knight, Nova (if they don't go for teenager given great power route), etc.

The A-list guys are pretty much taken up (I don't see him as the new Iron Man) so it'd have to be B-list and below.

Over at FOX there's more choices with X-Men characters.

Yeah i really don't care about this film now... He would of been perfect to direct a Batman flick tho

WB actually wanted to meet with him to direct the now delayed Justice League movie, they were also asking him to star as Batman at the time as well.

I'm actually OK with this, I also think Josh Brolin would have been raw as a The Dark Knight Returns type of Bats though.

Also, I've seen a slur of Afflecks movies, you would think he's from Boston, which is weird because this dude is from Cali

I can't see Ben Affleck as Batman,at all.

Has he been tough in any movie? I can't think of one. Even in the town he was the soft one in the group. He plays a good jerk, but a tough gritty crime fighter? He's going to have to work on that.

Ben Affleck Cast as Batman in Man of Steel Sequel!

It's official! Ben Affleck has been cast as Bruce Wayne/Batman in Zack Snyder's still untitled Batman/Superman sequel to this past summer's Man of Steel. The announcement was made today by Greg Silverman, President, Creative Development and Worldwide Production, and Sue Kroll, President, Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures. The studio has slated the film to open worldwide on July 17, 2015.

Last month’s surprise announcement of the new movie featuring both Superman and Batman created a wave of excitement and immediately fueled discussion and debate—among fans as well as in the media—about who would put on the cape and cowl of Bruce Wayne’s alter ego.

Snyder successfully re-imagined the origin of Clark Kent/Superman in the worldwide blockbuster “Man of Steel,” which has earned more than $650 million worldwide to date, and climbing. The director will now create an original vision of Batman and his world for the film that brings the two DC Comics icons together. Affleck will star opposite Henry Cavill, who will reprise the role of Superman/Clark Kent. The film will also reunite Man of Steel stars Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.

In the announcement, Silverman stated, “We knew we needed an extraordinary actor to take on one of DC Comics’ most enduringly popular Super Heroes, and Ben Affleck certainly fits that bill, and then some. His outstanding career is a testament to his talent and we know he and Zack will bring new dimension to the duality of this character.”

Snyder also expressed his excitement about the casting of Affleck, noting, “Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henry’s Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne. I can’t wait to work with him.”

Kroll added, “We are so thrilled that Ben is continuing Warner Bros.’ remarkable legacy with the character of Batman. He is a tremendously gifted actor who will make this role his own in this already much-anticipated pairing of these two beloved heroes.”

Affleck recently starred in the Academy Award-winning Best Picture Argo, which he also directed and produced, earning acclaim and a BAFTA Award nomination for his performance in the film, as well as a number of directing honors.

The new film is being scripted by David S. Goyer from a story he co-created with Zack Snyder. Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder are producing, with Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan and Wesley Coller serving as executive producers. Production is expected to begin in 2014.

yeah that's the only way this could be redeemed is if he's back on to direct JL

This is gonna be DC's last film for a lonnnnnnng time if...when this tanks.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth Olsen :smokin

Am I the only one okay with this choice?

We know WB was looking for a "BIG" name for the role. We got Affleck. Proven actor/director. From the other names WB was looking at this is a smart choice

Get over the fact he was Daredevil. It seems people want to trash this guy because of that role. He was great in The Town, and I can see him deliver that same performance in MOS2.
