News On Future Films Based on Comics/Paranormal/Sci-Fi

As I think about it I would've been ecstatic if Goyer and Snyder were fired for Kevin Smith and Affleck to come in to write and direct the sequel.

Haha. Weird choice. I can imagine batman fans crying right now. Matt Damon or Jimmy Kimmel as Robin.

Ben is a very good actor. All these complainers still live in his Gili days. :smh:

About 7-8 years ago they cast a WAAAAAY more down and out Robert Downey Jr. I think that's worked out alright.

Ben is coming off 3 Oscar worthy movies, 2 of which he starred in and he had no Boston accent in Argo. Plus he has Runner Runner coming out where he mentors a younger version of himself. :nerd:

Am I the only one who thinks Ben has proven himself a capable actor?

Ben is a very capable actor. Proven and all. Honestly I was hesitant at first when I heard the news. The way I looked at it, Bale, Nolan and their entire crew had just brought Bats back to prominence. Saved the franchise from the Schumacher-years and made him relevant again. And here we are now, looking at a reboot. At an entirely different version of the Bat. I guess the people didn't warm up to the idea of Ben as Bats is not that he's not a good actor. It's just being too overprotective of the Bat, that's all. Well, at least that's how I felt.

After a couple of hours thinking about it, I'm starting to warm up to the whole idea. Don't get me wrong, I still have doubts. But I think I'm gon' give Ben a chance and see where it goes from there.

i'm kinda coming around on it.. he has to play dark and brooding like he did in 'the town'..

or he can be slightly defeated by life a bit like he was in 'argo'.. the more i think about it, the more i'm OK with it.. i do like a good chunk of his movies, albeit he did have some stinkers

i'm more worried about snyder though

Rumor running right now is that with Affleck signed on to be Batman he would be able to direct myltiple projects with WB. One of them being Justice League.

Again, his work in The Town is Batman-esque.

Haven't agreed with CP much lately, but I agree with him here.

This "outrage" is rediculous. This whole damn world loves to judge everything before its even given a chance. I'm not the biggest fan of Ben but its clear lately that he's become a great actor.

People need to stop bringing up stupid Daredevil jokes as a reference. There's 300 movies Heath did that were stupid, but he was and always will be the perfect Joker.

Whose to say Ben can't pull it off?

Jesus. People cry and whine about everything. No matter who was castes you dudes woulda still been unhappy.

Face it. Anyone except Bale was gonna get a bad reaction. They were in a lose lose situation. If Bale doesn't want 60 million dollars what the hell you want them to do? Offer a billion?

Gotta move on and cast someone who can act and Ben can.

Relax and let some damn production begin before you throw a fit and start punching walls :smh:

actually, now that you mention it.. affleck's work behind the camera could be extremely handy to quell my concerns about snyder

Yup, forgot to mention he could also be behind the camera (and star) in the next Bat-films.

Agree with CP
Again, people are so quick to judge something they haven't seem yet.

Robert has always been a shining star and one of the best actors of his generation. Ben has been mediocre with only moments where he has shown to be above average most of which that have been recently. Rob being down and out had to do with his personal problems not a history of bland performances. Comparisons don't jive but hopefully Ben is like a wicked ****** wine that's aging really well.
I wonder how Joseph Gordon-Levitt feels about all this...
JGL for Daredevil :smokin

Maybe it's not that Ben would be underneath the cowl. But what he does with it that defines him.

JGL should be Nightwing or Red Hood if they are going with an older batman

I see JGL more as a Daredevil type character rather than Dr. Strange....

Dr. Strange should be an older guy no???

Doctor Strange is an older dude. WAY older than anyone JGL could portray.
I doubt it happens. WB is distancing themselves from the Nolan-verse Bats, so I really don't see JGL coming back to the franchise at all.
They wanted Christian Bale to return. They aren't distancing themselves at all. They hope the Nolan trilogy helps bring in sales to this one. I guarantee the general publc won't even know they switched creative teams

JGL should come to the marvel universe since he got bumped over on the taking up the mantle gig (even though it was a bad idea in the first place) maybe he could be Richard Rider? (Nova) ehh I'm not sure

And as for Doc Strange...Johnny Depp

I wonder what Ben gets paid for this.

If they really offered 50 mil to Bale and he declined, A, that's unbelievable :wow: and B, that's a poor move on his part, imo. Yet another reason I give credit to Jackman that he actually wants to do the character as much justice as he can and honor the role. Bale does his 3 and dips right when we reach a point that we've ALL been salivating over for years and years? :smh: I know it's easy for me to say Bale should do this and that, and the workouts, role, the costume and what not is a burden, but damn, 50 mil to do one last picture?

Ben gets half that and the company would be happy, don't'cha think? And I'm not even sure Ben will get 25 to start.

And I agree with the person that said they hope Ben and Cavill start workin out together, build a sort of early chemistry between the two. I hope that does in fact take place. They are the key. Their chemistry on scene will mean more than anything outside of the dialogue/writing. They need to work well together.

I still can't believe bale turning down the alleged 50 mil but that's just makes the dark knight trilogy that much more special
