News On Future Films Based on Comics/Paranormal/Sci-Fi

Joss Whedon must be poppin some Armand De Brignac right now. He doesnt have to worry about this type of response with his version of the character. You need to be actively trying to make a costume half as ******.

Maybe I'm more optimistic than most.. but I'm not freaking out over these crappy outfits.

I liked First Class, The Wolverine was solid, I'm still a fan of X1 and X2, so maybe I'm in the minority but I still think this movie would be good.

Who is this in days of future past?

This looks like you lifted a scene out of the Mortal Kombat movie  :smh:

There's TOOO many characters for this to succeed
To many characters that I feel will be useless in the plot

^Rogue's only scene got cut out but she is supposedly in the reshoots. Trust me when I say most of these characters will get less than 5 mins of screentime.

Ian McKellen who plays old Magneto kinda revealed he only spent a few days on set around the time Fassbender and JLa show up. I'd assume they're only in this dystopian future for like 30 min of the movie and then most of those characters die as they race to send Wolverine to the past fighting off future sentinels and what not.

I really expect like 95% of the characters on those covers to die and it won't matter anyway cuz I'm pretty sure they'll all be erased at the end of the flick.

I'm not familiar with the actual DoFP story. Is it safe to assume the movie is just First Class feat. Wolverine, with a cameo from all the OG guys in the beginning?

For the most part but the Ft. Wolverine part and why deals with a loose adaption of DOFP. Pretty much like other time travel stories, the future has gone to **** so lets go in the past and prevent it from happening.

The way Singer does things you really don't have to know much about the comic or even the previous movies other than names. This is like a one and done movie.

Stewart also revealed that the X1-X3 characters are just in the beginning and sets up the film/Wolverine going back and the rest are pretty much in the past and in the end that is pretty much going to be the only one and single timeline. My question is does that mean that the following X-films will be shot in the 70s-80s timeline? If they all of a sudden go back to the present day (2010's) then those character would just be old.

As for the costume, posted this on the other thread:

I also agree, I think the costume should be better than what we are getting. I mean I gave Singer a pass with X1 and X2 because back then it would have just been ridiculous but at this time and age, where Spiderman can run around in his red & blue spandex with giant white eyes and look cool, there is no more reason to hold back on a more creative way to incorporate yellow and blue in these XMen films.

With that said, we kind of have to look at the context of those costumes and their timeline, these future costumes are from a chaotic time where there have been a lot of mutant deaths and they are the rebels and are always in the hiding so black makes some sense, you don't exactly blend in and hide from the Sentinels wearing blue and yellow.

In the past, Magneto has the maroon-ish/purple get up because he can get away with more color in his gear, we haven't really seen the gear for the past XMen yet. They did try the blue and yellow in First Class and have a WOlverine costume and mask in The Wolverine so maybe (a huge maybe!), just maybe, they actually put Wolverine in the blue and yellow spandex in the past along with the other XMen and they simply did not include it in the covers as a surprise?

And as stated, these characters with these costumes will get very little screen time and with cgi, I think it'll be tolerable to most of you.

The hell? I could have sworn Riddick flopped? I guess doubling the budget and strong DVD sales are good enough for a sequel?

Vin Diesel Says Universal is Ready to Develop a Sequel to Riddick

in Diesel has taken to his official Facebook page once again, this time to announce that Universal Pictures wants to develop a sequel to his 2013 film Riddick. Here's his exact quote:

"I'm just excited, and happy, and I'm shouting out to you guys to say thank you. Universal just called me and told me Riddick is number one on the DVD charts. There's no way Riddick would have been made without you guys. You know that. and you guys have been a part of our page since 2012 and remember how arduous a road it was to get the movie made, and to make it rated 'R,' and to do it with such a low budget. It's a win for all of us and I really, really thank you so much. Yeah, I'm excited, and of course, Universal also says they want to develop the next one."

I haven't seen it and all I've heard is it's horrible but this week so far all I've been hearing is how Riddick is #1 in DVD sales and it's made so much money they can basically come through with another sequel.

I aint mad. I liked Chronicles, Pitch Black was just okay given it's budget and story and although I didn't see Riddick it's supposedly just rehashing the premise of Pitch Black. I would say I'm part of the cult fandom but I'm more interested if Vin is going to sell the rights to Riddick to Marvel which is my main reason I'm still invested and interested.

I thought about this too and I'm guessing it simply won't be time travel to the past and that's the new timeline. They might **** with time a bit more and some how transplant the 70s X-Men to modern times without them even realizing. Sort of like a whole rewriting of history and pushing stuff up. So it may even erase some of the continuity from First Class. Otherwise you'd have a bunch of young ppl that are suppose to be in their 50s and 60s.

Plus I don't really see any other way to make most of the First Class cast interact with the new F4 cast.

doubling the budget? thought it cost way less than chronicles of riddick? I thought it was pretty decent.

Most of the movie will consist of Wolverine and Kitty Pride. I know Storm gets killed off right away as she only shot one scene due to pregnancy. All the other characters will have minimal time.

I meant the movie made double it's budget. I think the film grossed $95m worldwide and it cost $40m to make before marketing? So that is basically just doubling the initial investment but I guess the DVD sales made enough of a difference.

Hmmmm...

According to Unleash the Fanboy, Marvel's Phase 4 will lead with a 'New Avengers' movie. They got the info from Disney source of theirs and here's what she had to say, “It’s so incredibly early in the process, but unless Robert [Downey Jr.] makes an insane deal with these guys, they’re going with New Avengers.”

The site asked their source whether New Avengers referred to the comic arc or simply that there will be new people who happen to comprise The Avengers and she said, "Well, you’ve heard the recent casting announcements. They’ve got a ton of great guys. Paul Rudd. Michael Douglas. Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Whoever they choose for Doctor Strange and the other new guys in Phase 3. They’ve got a lot of great guys to lead the new phase of the team. But that’s all I say. It’s really early."

Cool with me. It sounds like Cap is going to be around for a while since they're already talking about bring the Russo brothers back for a third installment. So he'll most likely step up as the official leader of the Avengers. I never got into the Avengers comics, but doesn't the team have different line ups anyway depending on the situation or year?

I thought it was pretty good. Saw it in a packed theater the week after release and the crowd seemed to be into it too.

Haven't seen it but heard really bad things about it. I liked Chronicles and Pitch Black too but I really think they missed an opportunity to get further into the Underverse and being Lord Marshall. I was excited when they announced a sequel but then lost interest when they said they wouldn't go that route. I'll see it sometime in 2014.

Yeah even if they were gonna skip ahead to them dudes kicking him off the throne through scheming or w/e I still thought at some point they'd tell the story of how he ruled and what was his downfall.

That's what I liked about Chronicles. The story went from badass alien dude on scary alien planet with bounty hunters turned semi horror flick to a sequel which actually did some universe building, introduced several other types of aliens, a mythos of sorts for Riddick and the main adversary, and yet kept the main character as the badass he was in the last flick.

Keep what you kill :pimp:
