LOL. Every announcement regarding Batman Vs Superman makes me think Batman and Robin will have some serious competition

If this is true..... :smh:
But Rock has been strongly hinting that he is the Green Lantern for a while now.

I don't see a problem with the Rock being John Stewart, I mean everyone wants him to be Luke Cage but are opposed to him being John Stewart? Why?

I mean you can probably say John Stewart is pretty much Roadblock with a power ring in Rise of the Cobra, which Rock played well. Or Hobbs with a ring, more serious, take your pick, it isn't going to be too hard for him to play John Stewart.

I just don't think it's a good match. I'm not opposed to him being GL but he doesn't remind me of any of them. I'd rather they just made a new character  Call him John Jordan.

I don't see a green lantern being good no matter who they choose to play him. The GL story just isn't that good to deem a movie IMO.

What? GL story can be very good if done right, DC/WB did the animated movie pretty well, Hal Jordans version that is.

I also think it's not a bad match at all, I mean sure there are better actors like Idris that also has a better look for the role but they aren't going to be asking an Oscar nominated performance for any of these films anyways. Hobbs is just a tough, no none-sense, serious guy and that is pretty much what John Stewarts personality is in a nutshell.

How is michael B one of the best actors out there?

because Bill Simmons says so.

"Greatest war movie since Black Hawk Down"

still can't believe they quoted him in Lone Survivor commercials

To be fair, I go with what he says movie wise alot of the time.

Can they make Reed Asian and Ben Latino. Might as well if they want to change everything else around. Call them the Diversity Four.
Basically the power rangers

I don't mind him being Luke Cage but he wouldn't be my first choice. I would rather they find an up and coming actor for that role. GL is a no. Too bad cuz I really liked JL/JLU version of him and was mad when the New 52 decided they wouldn't have any comics focusing on him. One of the few characters in DC I truly tip my hat to.

Anyone know when we will see a Guardians trailer?

Max Steel film still a go.

Berlin: Ben Winchell, Ana Villafane Join 'Max Steel'

Newcomers Ben Winchell and Ana Villafane have signed on to star in Max Steel, a live-action adaptation of the hit Mattel superhero toy franchise. The project, which producers Dolphin Films International, Mattel and sales group IM Global are presenting to buyers in Berlin, is the first in a planned series of Max Steel films. Open Road Films will release Max Steel wide in the U.S. next year through its multi-year, multi-picture deal with Dolphin Film.

Winchell, best known for his roles in Disney Channel's A.N.T. Farm and the USA Network series Necessary Roughness, will play the role of Max McGrath, a teenager with special turbo-energy powers who, together with alien companion Steel, becomes the superhero Max Steel. Villafane will play Max’s love interest, Sydney Gardner. An actress and singer, Villafane has appeared in TV series Los Americans and in Anchor Bay’s 2012 drama Hiding.

Max Steel is being written by Marvel Studios veteran Christopher Yost (Thor: The Dark World) and directed by Stewart Hendler, who helmed Dolphin’s sci-fi digital series H+.

Max Steel is arguably the hottest project at Berlin's European Film Market and IM Global and Dolphin are expecting a packed house for their exclusive presentation to buyers.

“Max Steel has a unique combination of success factors for independent distributors worldwide,” said Bill O’Dowd, CEO Dolphin Entertainment. “(It's) a tentpole film that launches a movie franchise and brings the global marketing power of the world’s largest toy company in Mattel, a first-rate partnership with IM Global and a top-quality story written for audiences of all ages by Marvel Studios veteran Christopher Yost.”

With Max Steel, Mattel is looking to position themselves in the film world in the manner toy maker Hasbro has done so successfully with its Transformer and G.I. Joe franchises. Max Steel is one of the best-selling toys in the world. It has been the number-one action figure sold in Latin America for more than a decade and, following a relaunch by Mattel last year, has become a hit in multiple territories, including the U.K., France, Germany, Spain and Australia.

I guess outside of the US it is big enough to make a film out of it?

The high-octane story centers on teenager Max McGrath and his alien companion Steel, who combine special turbo-energy powers to become the superhero Max Steel[emoji]8482[/emoji]. The film provides audiences with the first new superhero in decades, bringing a positive and relatable hero to audiences of all ages, while combining action and adventure with teamwork, laughter and friendship.

The “Max Steel” film is positioned to capitalize on the global momentum around the Max Steel franchise. In Latin America, Max Steel has been a number one action figure* brand for more than 10 years and has generated year-over-year revenue growth in toys and consumer products. Mattel re-introduced the Max Steel franchise to the rest of the world at the 2013 Nuremberg Toy Fair to much fanfare, and has subsequently launched the brand in more than 150 countries with branded entertainment, toys, games and publishing. In a short time, the Max Steel brand has gained widespread appeal around the world, including influential markets such as the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Australia.

I remember awhile ago there were rumors of The Rock playing Lobo. Would've been cool I thought but not sure how well Lobo would translate to the big screen.

It was actually him who was trying to get the project off the ground, I thought it would've been cool but not sure how the general audiences would accept that character.

I'd take him as John Stewart, though he'd be better playing a different character.

In MARVEL news, Paul Bettany is playing Vision?....

Says so here: http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/notyetamovie/news/?a=94150

He is the voice of Jarvis so I guess it makes sense to just hire him as Vision but is that a hint of where Ultron will come from?

I even have a feeling it might just be the voice though and they've just cgi Vision (which is better I think since they do bots well ie Ironman) and the guess of make-up test could just be a run of the mill rumor.

It does confirm Vision is in the film so cool. I just wish there was a more solid source or formal announcement by Marvel, they probably didn't expect it to leak.

I honestly can't envision a good fit for The Rock for any current hero despite the rumors of GL, Luke Cage, or Black Adam/Shazam. I don't think he's a good fit for any of them imo but I still would like to see him be some hero cuz I know he could pull it off with ease. However, I think he could be a great anti-hero or super villain too.

EDIT

Ever since I saw Bettany in that crappy Preist movie I felt he should get a go at some other better action flick. Back before they announced Spader as Ultron I was thinking he might get the role to play the voice.

Paul Bettany as Vision?????

I pretty much have the A2 story figured out in my head.

The gov uses stark tech and makes their own "hero" (Ultron) who knows the avengers strengths and weaknesses. It becomes self aware and turns on everyone. Avengers can't stop him because he has info on them and get their *** whooped. In comes the twins, Scarlett and Quick and the avengers own created hero...vision.

Sounds legit right?

Sounds too simple and too obvious, they almost never go by what you could easily guess like that. Marvel seems to be hinting that the twins will have something to do with Ultron but we're going to have to wait and see their supposed cameo in Winter Soldier.

Avengers Update: Paul Bettany Is The Vision, Who is Playing Miss Marvel?

Busy day for superhero movie news!

It’s official, the news broke tonight that Paul Bettany aka Jarvis from the Iron Man movies is going to play The Vision in Avengers: Age Of Ultron. So much for those Vin Diesel rumors.

Now, I was going to drop the following on twitter as one of my free Marvel twitter scoops but too many folks are embedding my tweets into their own news stories so I might as well keep the Marvel stuff in house.

Oh yeah, Miss Marvel is the last piece of major casting left in the movie. Yeah, Miss Marvel. Now, I’m not going to spoil HOW she is in it, but she is in there kids. The question now is who is going to play her? Katee Sackhoff was originally rumored so it will be interesting to see who Marvel gets for that part.

So at what point do people start to say this film is convoluted like the JL --- errrr Superman vs Batman film?

Nick Fury
Maria Hill
Cap
Thor
Hulk
Iron Man
War Machine
Falcon (rumored)
Black Widow
Hawkeye
Quicksilver
Scarlet Witch
Vision
Ms. Marvel

Villains included so far:

Ultron
Baron Von Strucker
Thanos (behind the scenes)

That doesn't even include GotG that could still be in the film:

Star Lord
Gamora
Groot
Rocket Racoon
Drax

Plus the Phase 3 heroes, which they might have to send away or kill off one of the major members to make room for:

Ant-Man(s)
Dr. Strange
Black Panther

^There is at least 5 characters in that list that no one would care if they just showed up for 3 or 4 minutes in the entire movie. Many of those characters will have SHARED screen time.

Baron Von Strucker has already been confirmed to only be in the film for a few minutes. Again I forgot what Clevver Movies or BTT video said that so I am not searching through looking for it. But basically what I got from that video is that Baron is taken care of in the first few minutes then the movie starts.

Most of those guys are their for future films and won't really be I'm the main storyline of this film..

If gotg are in it, it's building to avengers 3.. Von strucker will be there for cap 3.. And the side guys will stay side guys (falcon and war machine)

Also when I watched Avengers I felt they could've added at least 3 more main guys and would not have felt cluttered at all. Whedon got this down!

Nick Fury (minor role)
Maria Hill (minor role)
Cap
Thor
Hulk
Iron Man
War Machine (minor role, I don't even recall him being in A2: AOU)
Falcon (rumored)
Black Widow
Hawkeye (minor role like the first movie)
Quicksilver
Scarlet Witch
Vision
Ms. Marvel (most likely a minor role, probably take up lines Maria Hill was suppose to get)

Ultron
Baron Von Strucker
Thanos (behind the scenes)

Fixed

Phase 3 they may be on some Avengers Disassembled **** leading in to A3 anyway. I expect solo movies from those other guys and they don't have to be in Avengers.

GOTG aint gonna be in Avengers 2 at all. At most a post credit scene. Adding some space **** to an Ultron movie is doing too much.
