News On Future Films Based on Comics/Paranormal/Sci-Fi

If there are going to be Cap2 conversations with spoilers, please keep it in the official thread because at least those who doesn't want to get spoiled can avoid that thread. I think too many people visit this thread for those discussions. Still got to wait 2 weeks. :frown:

I liked Prometheus, it was very thought provoking and had me thinking about it for weeks after, to me that's a good film, if I walk out and 2 hours later I forgot what the movie was even about, that's a sign of a terrible movie
Thought provoking? It was a very sloppy film.

How the hell did Frozen become one of the highest grossing movies of all time?

Word, I thought it was pretty whack outside of the final 20 min or so.

The first half hr and the c-section scene were great. Fassbender killed it. And the questions they asked were really interesting.

I just don't know if that makes it a good film. Definitely a notable one. There was better conversation about that film than anything else that came out in 2012. It just went full ****** 45 min in and never stopped stacking the stupid.

Something that's being left out of a lot of the headlines about Fox's announcement is an untitled Ridey Scott film for 2016

Prometheus 2 is supposed to be coming next year but it could have been delayed.. Or it could possibly be Blade Runner 2

I know a lot of people view Prometheus as a ****** film but i honestly think the series has promise
what!!!!! prometheus was my ****, got me on that philosopher mindset for quite awhile

Prometheus is a Top 5 Sci-Fi movie to me. I enjoyed every bit of it. Can't wait to see the sequel

Disney confirmed they would be releasing a Star Wars movie every year starting next year. Not sure if this was part of the confirmation or if it was a rumor but it should switch off between canon and offshoot film.

Star Wars VII
Yoda Movie
Star Wars VIII
Darth Maul Movie
Star Wars IX
Obi Wan Movie

^Examples not really the movies they will make but wouldn't surprise me.

Top 5 all time or top 5 recent?

When I watched the blu-ray with all the deleted scenes that version was definitely better. I liked it when I watched it at the theater but it felt incomplete with stuff left out.

I've always had a fascination with the Engineers since "Alien". Read nearly all the Alien & Predator novels. I have a strong bias towards Prometheus. My favorite Sci-Fi movie probably would go to GATTACA.

I always forget about GATTACA on my sci-fi lists. Whenever I flip channels and it's on tv I'll leave it on and finish it. The swim race scene towards the end is one of my favorite movie scenes.

The storyline is so dope to me. The whole genetic manipulation thing could very well happen in the near future. Made me a Ethan Hawke and Jude Law fan. Probably watch it again sometime this weekend.

Of my lifetime, top 5 scifi gotta be...Gattaca, Children of Men, The Matrix, Eternal Sunshine and Minority Report.

Gattaca is so damn memorable. You never shake that movie outta your bones. Jude and the oven. The ending. They coulda made that movie for $5 and a pack of skittles, and it wouldn'ta mattered. The ideas and writing were so damn strong. :smokin

I love Gattaca (remember seeing it in a HS class and everyone was falling asleep but I couldn't take my eyes off the screen and hated when I had to wait the next day to finish the movie) but damn it's too difficult to pick my top 5, even top 10 SciFi films of all time. There's just too many.

Jurassic Park, Terminator 2, Matrix, Clockwork Orange, Alien(s), Back to the Future, Blade Runner, 2001: Space Odyssey, ET, Inception, District 9, Akira, etc....

I think sinister six is planned for 2016 and Venom should be due in between that and SM4

:smh: seeing them all laid out that way shows just how many of these tentpole flicks the studios are kicking out these days

Movie would have been way better had they made it at least 20 minutes longer tbh, Ridley has been known for saying story is secondary to pacing and apparently the studio wanted the film at a certain length so he made some major cuts.

I really want to find out about the Elders and the history of their planet(s). He's bordering on some Space Jesus stuff too which is very interesting too, The film could have been so much more but after finding out they basically dumbed down the original story so it could span a trilogy it makes a lot more sense.

Yeah, GATTACA is definitely a movie that gives you a bunch of feels. I also liked the scene where the doctor tells Vincent how his son is a fan of his. So awesome. Need to see if the bluray has a bunch if extras that makes it worth buying.

No one should be surprised at cap 2 being :smokin especially since cap 1 is the best phase 1 film before avengers (yes better than iron man 1)
No. Cap1 was not better than IM1. Wasn't even close to it. It's disappointing in comparison given how they montaged world war 2 and his various missions throughout.
That is what I was thinking. I dont know how everyone decided on miracles. Joss Whedon writes comics. Doubt he would approve of that ********.

I think he will make a great quick. And I like how they look like they could be brother and sister in real life

aren't they married in Godzilla? but yeah I hope they aren't called miracles. Sounds... weird.
She plays his love interest.. not sure if they're married

:nerd: Aaron Johnson is only 23... seems like dude's been around for a decade lol
He kinda has been around for that long. I aint even know dude was British.

Makes sense Olsen and Johnson are love interests in Godzilla given the twins relationship in the ultimate universe  :x

And Feige said they aren't ruling out putting out 3-4 films per year.
