News On Future Films Based on Comics/Paranormal/Sci-Fi

Wow, that DoFP trailer really made me excited for the movie. I'm guessing people's opinions have changed also and I think the earlier trailers suffered from bad editing and really early post-production for the movie

All those guys deserve to get curb stomped. They should be locked in a room and forced to watch x3 and wolverine origins until they cry.

It's pretty obvious that some people are just so desperate for these superhero movies you can serve them **** in a flaming brown paper bag and they will thank you for it.

You guys think there will be a time, maybe 3-4 years from now when audiences will just want a break from all these hero movies? They'll still make a ton of money but maybe not the projected dollar amounts that were expected.

I don't see superhero movies going out of style anytime soon. They're the only type of movies that require these ridiculously huge budgets and are always pushing the envelope CGI wise.

Maybe? But I don't see that happening anytime soon lol.

I can't believe Whedon is getting a pass on how SW looks. I swear, he's about to hit Christopher "He can do no wrong" Nolan status. If Singer pulled something like that he would have been crucified.

Then again, Joss did put Olsen in a low cut top, short skirt with thigh highs so I guess I'll give him a pass. Damnit.

And as for the bashing of the first two X-Men films, I guess I'm more forgiving because I grew up in a time when I actually rented the Dolph Lundgren Punisher film and was following the production of the Roger Corman Fantastic Four film like a hawk. I hate to sound like a fossil, but you have no idea the depths of our desperation for Marvel comic book films in the 80's and 90's.

Even with that said though, as films, the first two X-Men movies were quality. I can't say I liked what they did with Cyclops (which is my favorite X-Men character) and the costumes were solid at best, but they did capture the spirit of the comic book.

quicksilver looked cooler in the concept art

People are speculating about that being Ultron but from another angle you can tell it's just a bot

If DC ever gets their universe fully running I can see superhero fatigue happening. imo if a couple of these films tank like John Carter did in the same year it'll slow things down a little.

Marvel Phase 4 is going to be extremely interesting.

EDIT: Saw more set photos.. yeah it does look Ultron-ish.. plus they had a dude wearing a mo cap suit doing some of the same stuff the Ultron stand in was

Superhero fatigue is not a matter of "if" its a matter of when. Phase 1 didnt have two movies a year until the very end so i would say that is part of the reason the fatigue aint set in.

I havent looked at sales but the ones that are not doing well in the box office shouldnt be counted cuz no one went to see them (until an avengers or dc or sony or fox movie tanks). And you have to factor in that not everyone is seeing every movie as you can tell by the fact that some avengers movies are doing way better than others. They could release a fox movie every month and it wouldnt bother me since i aint seeing them and i am sure people feel the same way about DC and Marvel.

Not every superhero movie will be the same genre and you have to account for that too. Blade (vampire), Thor(fantasy), 300(medival), TDK(gangster), Avengers (action) etc are all different genres

I'm so confused, arent ant man and hank pym the same person?

There have been different people to take up the mantle of ant man. Hank pym is the OG and created the antman suit/tech but others have gotten into the suit as well with hank pym taking on other personas like giant man and yellow jacket. Scott lang's antman was part of the avengers as well but I'm assuming because ultron's origin story isn't dealing with his true creator, Pym, then they're just jumping into Scott lang's antman.

Why is Paul Rudd playing Scott Lang as opposed to Hank Pym :frown:

lol are you just realizing this?

Ant-Man is in the same boat as Spidey. The comics/character has been so lame, except for during a few key events that they should do us the favor and switch the mythos. Besides Marvel needs a genius villain outside the IM part of the universe (I think Pym is the villain in that movie). Dr. Doom is with Fox and Thanos is their main cosmic threat.

Whedon has already reached Nolan status in some corners of the web. The SW costume stinks. If you can use Black Widow strictly as eye candy, you can sexy up Scarlet.

People been worshipping Whedon for awhile. He has fan armies from Buffy and Firefly.

My understanding was that at some point in the film, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym shows Rudd's Scott Lang how to use the Ant Man suit. And I'm sure going with Lang instead of Pym is Marvel's way of side-stepping the story arc where Hank Pym beats the breaks off of his wife. You can't make action figure play sets of that.

^lol they could just skip that story arc altogether. They could split for various other reasons. I hope Wasp aint Lang's love interest tho. The Wasp is an essential part of Hank Pym that I think needs to remain intact.

Spiderman has always been cool to me. From his powers to the villains he has.

It's not like he's Dazzler or Cypher or something.

Remaking the Scarface (1983). Probably be PG-13 as well :smh:

We can agree to disagree because I think his villains are lame as **** besides a handful at most. I can list on one hand the great spidey villains. I may be missing a few since I haven't touched a spidey comic since 00-01 except Superior Spidey.
