News On Future Films Based on Comics/Paranormal/Sci-Fi

Yes but you didnt go in there with the intent of walking out. Fresh Like Will would make a bigger statement by not forking over his money.

A lot of theaters will refund your money within half an hour, but I've never asked for one. Whether Michael Bay gets my ticket money or not, it won't make a difference. The movie is still going to gross a ridiculous amount of money with or without it. I'm not trying to make a statement. I just don't want to subject myself to the depredation of my childhood.

Johnny Knoxville, Tony Shalhoub Lend Voices To ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’

EXCLUSIVE: If the half-shell hero Leonardo sounds a bit like Bad Grandpa in the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the half-pint sensei Splinter sounds like Monk, there’s good reason. Johnny Knoxville has just been added to voice the role of Leonardo, and Tony Shalhoub is voicing Splinter, the Yoda-like creature that teaches chop socky technique to the turtles. Now, Pete Ploszek played the role of Leonardo during the filming part, while Seinfeld‘s Danny Woodburn played Splinter. Insiders tell me they were always open to changing the voicing component of the Jonathan Liebesman-directed film that Paramount releases August 8, and those actors were only guaranteed to physically perform the roles in costume. But as it has proven with World War Z, G.I. Joe: Retaliation and Noah, Paramount also is a studio that isn’t reticent to adding ingredients to the souffle after it has risen, and right up to the point where it’s ready to be served.

Good read on a Bloombergs visit to Marvel Studios: http://www.businessweek.com/article...vels-superhero-at-running-movie-franchises#p5

Talks about spin-offs for other characters, plans up to 2028, talking baout menacing villains, etc...

2028. That is how it is supposed to be ******* done. You can tell he reads the comics too (even if you didnt know he was the Astonishing X-Men writer). Why is it so hard for everyone besides Marvel and to an extent Fox to do this?

I'm sure studios has future plans but just aren't announced because they are reliant on the success of the other movies. Like GL, if it were a huge success, then the JL film would probably be being developed now and MoS would have been completely different. They tried Bat/Supes in 2002 and went nowhere and eventually evolved to batman Begins, JL film with Common was shut down due to the writers strike, several failed WW tv pilots, etc... Some are just bad at it. Really hoping the new CEO has a better vision, he is already more open to risks so that i a good thing. We shall see where it goes. More DC films is suppose to be announced soon, likely by SDCC and many are speculating a JL film will be part of it.

Sony is planning ahead now too though. They have SM up to 4 films planned plus the Sin6 and Venom films.

I also think Marvel can plan much farther into the future now because of their success over all their films so far. While most of the other studios films aren't exactly flops, they do not have more than one franchise that comes close to billion $ mark.

Trying to avoid the TWS thread til tonight so I'll post here, Mondo posters for TWS.

 @ to think there were lames talking about the bubble bursting.

******* 2028. Sounds more like Marvel is in complete control of this and it'll end when they say so. If the movies just keep getting better the dominance will never end.

Yah even though Marvel films hasn't all been great, they really could do no wrong in the box office right now. They could probably make a Squirrel Girl movie where she puts a beat down on Thanos and still make big money.

However, as Feige said, quality can't go down too much though and that was his main concern if they start making 3-4 films per year. Would be amazing if they could pull it off but damn that'll be like what, 6-8 comic book films a year? Maybe stretch to 10+ for more other book adaptations like Secret Service and Sin City plus the other sci-fi films like Star Wars and Star Trek. Crazy if that happens.

They should really do 3-2-3-2 etc. 4 is too much. Not sure how I feel about 3 every year.

I do think 3 is too much every year just because they already have 4 Netflix series in development. However, if they want to use one of those dates/films to branch off and make a BW or Ms Marvel film going, then I am all for it because it won't hinder the production of a Dr. Strange, BP and Hulk films, which I would rather see made.

At the end of the day though, I'll still end up seeing them all in the theaters anyways so Marvel already got my money. :wow:

Not as funny as Honest Trailers anymore (cuz they try to reach too much) but there's some chuckles to be had.

*goes to buy Disney stock*

I've spoken plenty in the Star Wars thread, but it is real, REAL, possible to have a different Star Wars film come out EVERY year.

For about 50 years really.

Not even close to kidding. Now, they likely won't go the route I am saying, but if they were to use the expanded universe (books, comics, video games) they could EASILY do a film a year. As an example

Regular cannon Star Wars 7 2015
2016 a Boba Fett solo film
2017 Star Wars 8
2018 Yoda film
2019 Star Wars 9
2020 Boba sequel
2021 Vader film
2022 Yoda sequel
2023 X-Wing film
2024 Star Wars 10
2025 Vader sequel
2026 Star Wars 11
2027 Old Republic film
2028 X-Wing sequel
2029 Star Wars 12
2030 Old Republic sequel
2031 Darth Maul film

It can go on, and on and on and on and on and on and NEVER, lose steam. Ever. Half a billion a movie in sales, and that's me lowballing it.

There are infinite writers that would love to get in on it, directors, actors, and Disney would still have the Marvel universe printing money at the same time, they have literally zero risk in doing something like that.

If they even approach what I'm saying here, Disney is flat out printing money for the next few decades. Insane amounts.

Someone needs to change that "It prints money" nintendo DS/Wii gifs and replace the heads with Kevin Feige and Mickey mouse as well as the DS with a comic book.

Wouldnt be as funny as the original but still

Whats the status and situation on the Star Wars franchise right now? Seems like it is moving slow and factual reports are scarce. All I really remember is that Abrams will direct the main film but other infos on casting and other directors for the rest of the solo films seems real sporadic.
