NT's LEGAL Gun Thread UPDATE...First Youtube Firearm Review Page 61

So jealous of you southerners that can jus walk in academy or centerfire

Also forgot to mention theyre all even factory cerakoted and barrels hardchromed... they will out live you and as most of you know cerakote is theee way to go unless your weapon is alrdy nickel or chrome. It will protect against rust as well or better than anything as well as be the most resistant to fading. The bargain here really is ******ed. For 350-450 it might end up being the nicest pistol you own... if your cheap like me anyway. The more i research the more im blown away at how overpriced most handguns are. Half the price but more quality? I was skeptical but do ur own homework if u dont believe me. Occasionally if your careful you cannn get what u dont pay for hah the tp9 even comes with a serpa style holster

Zastava cz99 vs sig p226
Eaa st10 vs hk or sig
Canik55 shark/tristar t100 vs magnun research baby eagle
Canik55 / tristar s120 vs Cz 75b
Canik55 / tristar stingray c vs CZ sp01
Canik55 tp9 vs Walther P9 or PPQ

Jus copy n paste those phrases n your youtube or google. After days of searching real life opinions the consensus is the same across the board. Most americans are brandwashed tho. One of these pistols with some custom work will outperform 2k 1911s... a dude named Brian Ahearn has a few on the cz forum that he did with the cz accu parts from the custom shop n custom cerakote/grips sights etc that altogether was like 1100. The 7 yd group from a bench is litterally the same hole.

I'm really starting to like the CZs but I think once I get rid of my Glock 27 I'm gonna grab a Beretta m92 in the Inox finish or the very first pistol I wanted but could never bring myself to buy... the Colt Defender.

watched ur vid on page 61 finally EDW. Still lovin it?

i kinda want one but im wonderin if i wouldnt be better served jus gettin the rifle version. Does the afg make it more rifle like? have u looked into one of those sig ar/ak pistol braces?

I had a Draco which was a blast to shoot but it was stolen out of my Tahoe years ago and I've been looking at the M92s for a while now. That pistol brace would be difficult to install because he would have to drill his rear trunion and install some sort of buffer for the brace to attach to. I considered one and adding a side folder but the underfolder looks so cool... You just have to find one with the serial towards the front of the received.

my bad JSJ!!! Totally missed your post my dude apologies brother. Yes I totally love my M92. I feel like I have created a rig better than most SBRs without needing a tax stamp and here's why...

1.7.62 still kicks a** from an extremely short barrel without sacrificing too much ballistically.
2. It is a rifle that shoots an intermediate rifle round and has a standard 30 rd capacity but yet can still fit into a small backpack/knapsack very discreetly. As a matter of fact it can hide under a standard sized pillow with magazine and optics very discreetly...I had a chick stay over and no joke she never knew there was an AK under the pillow.
3. The M92 is "battlefield" accurate especially from 100yards and under...when you think of it most gunfights happen 100 yards on in, but I can still hit beyond that with my Vortex Strikefire.
4. It's a CQB gawd...you can slice the pie so tightly with it since it's so short but still you have a intermediate round instead of a subgun round (ala 9mm and .45)

My latest setup includes the same green laser/white light module on the side rails for extremely fast CQB target acquistion and a white light that strobes to disorient the adversary, as well as the Vortex Red/Green dot optic which is better at medium to longer ranges or CQB if you don't want to give your position away with the visible laser. With the Vortex you can still shoot with both eyes open accurately.

The AFG makes it handle much better bro...plus I do something very unorthodox but extremely effective. I shoot with my cheek on the hinged dustcover with the rifle tucked in close...so where I look the rifle moves with me. It's very much more accurate than the way you see people shoot AK shorties on the web. I've never see anyone do it. I taught a Houston Cop to shoot that way with it and at first he was skeptical, after he actually tried it he never went back to the arm extended method. It's actually superior to having a side or underfolder...only thing it doesn't work for lefties due to the reciprocating charging handle being a problem.

I posted on arfcom and the response was positive but a few questioned the safety of cheek welding the dustcover. First off the M92 dust cover is hinged and not loose like a Draco or Krink. Also the bolt assembly comes back in a linear fashion and not up or down this means you feel absolutely nothing when shooting that way. It provides a perfect scope picture when using a high mount.

I'll post a vid of the new technique and the firearm.

That thing kicks so much ***. I have a cheapo ak now. I need to stop dragging my feet and get one already.

Wont quote but :x @elderwatsondiggs preciate the review bruh. Thats the good stuff. I wanna hear the functionality. I can decide what looks cool on my own hah i really dig that setup. I dunno bout the high mount tho for my own build. Id imagine the mount n optic gotta be rock solid and im not lookin to drop the coinage that those professional optics u run go for. I dunno i dont even wanna think about it tho cuz i will inevitably research for the next 2 weeks jus to remember i alrdy have like 57 other projects mapped out i wanna get to haha one atta time... or two.

Took the keltec out and ran the last of my .45 cache for awhile. Time to start shootin 9 for awhile. I wanted to take some fruit/2 liters n bust em up on cam but i forgot. Next time i go ill go on a day off n get there early so i can set some **** up

No doubt JSJ. I'm all about the functionality (even though the chances of me actually conducting a CQB scenario is minimal to none...mucch less a medium range engagement). EVERYTHING is there for a functional reason and tailored for my type of AK. One of my buddies tried the same setup on his "full sizedb AK and it made for a less desirable platform.

High rings for my specific platform actually lines up to sightline of my eye when I cheekweld. Low rings would not work in that scenario. As a bonus there's a little pass through under it allowing you to use the iron sights without dismounting the scope.

Also another advantage of having the sight up front is that it makes the gun balance well and adds weight to the front which helps to mitigate recoil somewhat. The green laser/white light has a thumb actuator that lines up perfectly with no need for a wired pressure pad. In other words everything was well thought out and placed. So much firepower, so compact, with legendary AK reliability and ruggedness.

Oh and this is off topic but needs to be said on behalf of the Kalashnikov and its variants...its bad reputation of inaccuracy deals more with untrained bandits using them than the weapon itself. More than a few of the insurgents/rebels/whatever we call the "bad" guys these days have no real training...they just spray and pray or shoot blindly from cover. They'd suck just as much with M16/M4 variants if they had those instead. I had to take my patriotic blinders off to see just how capable the AK really is.

Ewd I need to sight in my ak I just use the iron sights and they are off of course from the factory. Is a laser bore sight good enough. It's just a fun gun. I just want to be hitting steel from 100 yards or so at the farm. Never sighted in a gun before so I don't really understand the way people do it with a paper target.

Laser Boresights will "get you on the paper" 25 or so yards then from there you have to fine tune the front sight post from there to get it to your preferred accuracy.

Ok full disclosure here...my firearm "knowledge" is a mixture of first hand experience, sexond hand information from guys who know firearms better than me, research and YOUTUBE lol. My dude when I buy a new weapon platform I'm not ashamed to go to youtube to learn how to field strip and clean it...jad to do that with my 930 SPX as a matter of fact.

Google "how to adjust an AK sights" there are 2 videos that show you how to fine tune the sighting in. My AK is slightly different and uses a different sighting system than the majorory of the AKs. But I did use the laserbore to help get me on the paper with my red/green dot. Question do you hve the sight tool for it?

It's all good man. You have more experience than me I know that much. I'll check YouTube. I just wanted to hear from someone first hand too. All my friends have aks also but they never sight them in

No I don't have the sight tool yet. I know what you're talking about. I was going to order that with a bore sight.

^^Great my dude! Let us know how it went.

Speaking of the Mossy 930 SPX the dang prices shot up $200 for them. Glad I got mine before the word got out on them. The Benelli M4 has went up to $2300 in some places but I think that's just the nickle plated salt water environment version.

What advice do you all have for someone looking to buy a shotgun for home protection? I made a thread a while back seem a shotty is the best especially for a novice. I see wal mart has affordable guns.

Also what are things to google to ensure I'm covered on the legal stuff? I believe in ga you don't need a permit if the gun is in the home only to carry, I don't plan on having this leave my home.

Any recommended brands/models? Honestly don't want to spend more than 300-250

Luch, gonna be kind of hard to dind a brand new shotty worth having at $300 these days...but Mossberg has the JIC models for around $400. They are solid shotties. I was looking at them years ago as my first shotgun. Remington makes great shotguns too but they tend to be pricier.

Guys in here please share the best firearm legality sites y all know and use. It's been awhile since I've been to any od them.

If it's for home protection, don't budget shop. Easier said than done, of course, but I'd recommend spending a little extra and opening up your budget.

When it comes to shotguns you don't need to spend alot, it's a very simple firearm. If you live in a state that has an Academy I would go look there. You can grab a pistol grip Mossberg for around 350 I believe. Point and click, it does the job.

Afternoon gentlemen, it's been a while.

Lucky,on Buds Gun shop you can find Mossberg 500's under $300 and Remington 870's under $350. Either one would be a good choice for a home defense shotgun.

But here's how I spent my day.

Thanks, I live in Georgia so I assume ordering a gun online isn't going to be a big issue?

How are ASI? I see they have guns for like 180-250-300

The pasimax is a solid shotty for 200 bucks luch. Muzzle brake. Butt pad. Fiber optic. Its good to go. Dont let ppl tell u you gotta spend 500 to get a gun thatll work everytime.

U can get the nickel plated for 250 off buds

U wont have parts compatibality or a ton of capacity but benelli tubes work with them.

Also the Maverick 88 is 250 which is exactly the same as the mossberg 500. Jus less refined parts. Conpletely interchangeable tho. Either one will be perfect for ur needs. Jus get as short as barrel as you can

ill second what JSJ said about shottys, you really dont have to spend that much. 18" barrel, minimum 3+1. A maverick 88 will do the job for strictly home defense. Of course a 5.56 or .223 would be better penetration-wise.

Personally, I wouldnt even bother to buy a new shotgun. If possible, I'd buy a used wingmaster, add the extended tube, chop the barrel, and keep it moving. I sold my 930 spx, and my 500 ATP has been out of commision for the last few months. No damns given.

My 2nd AR is almost ready; I got the barrel in today (16" .223 wylde 1/8 twist stainless steel rainier arms). Just waiting til i get paid to order my gasblock and gas tube, then i'll take it to VA arms to Robb Jenson to put together for me. Prolly won't even shoot it for a while. But it'll feel good knowing I have a second AR ready to go.
