When my custom barrel shroud comes im done. The flip up sights and laser gunna go on my other rifle. Too much clutter alrdy. Found an aluminum foregrip with built in flashlight ill be using on the other build too. This setup should put a hurtin on the undead hah

Is that front sight on backwards?

My next pickup will be a rifle preferably an ak-47. What are some things I need to know when I go look at them. Also what brands to look at?

I've had a century arms Draco (pistol) shot my boys Zastava PAP (pistol) and shot my uncles Norinco (full size) ...no real difference to me, triggers all felt the same and they all went bang every time I pulled the trigger. The only difference was that the Norincos aren't stamped so they're heavier.

I need to get off my *** and get my permit. Ny just makes it such a hastle and im soo lazy. Great post everyone

Anybody here ever deal with Atlanticfirearms co ? I'm looking to buy most of my parts for this Ak build through them...

Also...

Any Cali heads have any trouble getting something transferred to their name? Let me know what that experience is life, I appreciate it.

I haven't but they have been around and have a good reputation. When I buy another ak I'll get it from there. They have a better selection than most stores.

Anybody have truglo tfo night sights for a glock 17? Im in the market of night sights for my glock and im leaning towards the troglos.

Went under the radar for me,just found out the concealed carry age was lowered to atleast 19 years ,I'll be taking classes soon.

Do they provide guns or do you have to buy em before you take the course?

How do yall fee about rechambering a round? I ask because I have to unload my gun when I go to the range and load it back up when I leave. Some people say setback could be a problem.

^Unless it's a high pressured round like .357 sig, and your're chambering the same round dozens of times, it's something I wouldn't worry about. At the range, I'll just shoot that first round (if I'm shooting the gun I'm carrying first) or I'll unload my carry mag, put that round in first (so it's a the bottom) and rock on.

Andretti - As far as 38's, ruger and smith are known for quality revolvers. I had a taurus revlover and it had timing issues. With the small j frame size revolvers, their smaller and have crappier sights so they're going to be harder to shoot, and will have more recoil.

Also, since you're under 21, you won't be able to purchase a handgun in a store or online, so you'll have to go through private local sale. Thats not a bad thing because you can definitely get some good deals locally if you keep your eyes open.

If your looking for an inexpensive gun i's be looking at a Canik. I've literally not read a bad review about them. Or if our looking for something smaller, the m&p shield runs about $360 and from what I've read, shoots like a much bigger gun.

keep an eye on local used glocks. On local forums, it seems like many people are dumping their micro .40 cal pistols like the glock 27. If you can find one cheap and get a conversion barrel, you'll have the option of either caliber.

Any 38s you recommend looking at?

S&W J frame airweight. Very light weight and easy to carry and you cant fick it up of you have to pull. Point and shoot
Thanks homies :pimp:

Didn't see it posted here but supposedly there is going to be a ban on M855 ammo since there's so many AR pistols now being bought.

Yeah, neckbeards gon neckbeard. The stupidity has already begun.

Makes no sense to me (especially since m193 is cheaper, more accurate, and can be shot at indoor ranges) but whatever. I don't even have an AR anymore so I have no dambs to give.

Have a couple in mind so far
Go a go to the gun shop to see what they have used.

Looking at a few

Beretta p x4 storm
dug sauer sp2022
Taurus large frame (Maybe later)
Taurus tracker
Taurus medium/small frame revolver
Taurus protector

sig sauer sp2022's have a very good reputation...to quote Todd Green, a highly respected pistol trainer

"It's a good gun that was always overshadowed by the superior P220-series pistols. Customers that look at SIG don't usually look for a bargain. Being the "cheap SIG" created an undeserved stigma that it was somehow a bad gun. The quirks of the original 2009/2340 didn't help.

The 2022, however, is a surprisingly good gun that meets the same quality standards as the P226 or P229 in terms of reliability, durability, and accuracy. While I'd probably be right guessing that the average random P226 or P229 will surpass those standards farther than the average 2022, as a functional option for an LE agency or casual shooter it really is a great bargain."

Keep in mind support for it is limited. It'll be hard to find holsters, sights, spare parts, etc. Depending on what you plan to do with the gun, it might not matter.

Just for argument sake, i just bought a brand new m&p 9 fs for $420 online from sportsman's outdoor super store. Add in $17 for transfer and background check, thats $437 for a brand new gun. Unless your LE, you ain't beating that anywhere.

Richie you in the military or work for the government? I asked because you know a lot about firearms and not just one or two brands in particular. If you aren't are you just an enthusiast?

^ Nah, I'm not .mil, leo or any gov employee. I'm just a fat dude that enjoys firearms.

When I turned 21 I got my CHL and a little hungarian FEG PA-63 in 9x18 makarov. I'd go to the range every 2-3 months, shoot 50 rounds, clean it, and put it back in the box. Occasionally I would carry it in my car, even more rare on my person.

I guess about 4-5 yrs ago I started moving from sneakers more into firearms. I had just moved back to VA from DC, and had a couple of situations living in the city that made me really think about personal protection, especially since I was starting a family then.

A few years ago I watched 3gun Nation on NBC on saturday's, and it amazed me how fast and accurately people could shoot. It made me want top go out and shoot.

Then I bought an AR on whim on a visit to my parents. I had no clue about them, thought it was good deal (used dpms A3 I paid $700, not too bad a deal at the time) but I was curious why my rifle cost $700 and other rifles that looked the same cost twice as much. That, and wanting to know as much as possible about it led me to online firearm forums.

After a few years, and thousands of dollars spent, I realized that I'm just not a rifle guy. A combination of not growing up shooting, not having anywhere to shoot rifle, and general lack of necessity has led me away from investing too much in rifles. Don't get me wrong, AR's and AK's are cool; if I had close access to an outdoor range i'd probably still have at least one, but in my siuation, it's just not practical. Every dollar I have tied up in AR accessories is a dollar I could invest in pistol ammo.

I've learned what I know from reading online, personal experience, and shooting. For a long time I was a gun trader; I'd get a gun, keep it and shoot it for a few months, then trade it for something different. Just of top, I've probably had about a dozen different guns in the last 10 years, not counting duplicates.

Like I said before, shooting is my thing now. Last pair of kicks I bought was a pair of roshe runs back in November. Every recreational dollar I have goes to G&A. To me, it's like golf, a lifelong sport that can change with your skill/age/physical ability.

I think i am at the very beginning stages of your journey now. Ive been looking into the different models and companies watching YouTube videos and it really is interesting.

My first love will always be cars but i can see firearms coming in a close second

Word man I figured that was your situation. I ask cause I see you contribute the most to this thread. I think I'm headed down the same route as you man all my spare time goes towards guns and researching them. I bought three pistols in less than a year lol. I understand what you mean about the rifles it's like when will I ever need one but you have to have one to say you have one. I'm itxhing for an ak now that I have a 9 and 45. After I get my ak I plan on getting an xdm 9

I'm actually hoping to be a newbie resident in this thread. Its pretty dope too that my fraternity brother EWD was one of the big advocates in here if I remember right.

Anyways I'm thinking bout copping my first gun. I've pretty much moved on from sneakers and I'm into whips moreso now. I've been considering a gun for a while but I really don't know where to start.

I almost copped a Taurus PT111 on a impulse buy a couple weeks back when it was 200 but now I'm kind of glad I didn't. Do you guys have any suggestions on a first piece. I have no experience shooting or carrying but I plan to join a shooting range in the next couple of weeks. I'm really considering copping a XDM 9MM or even a glock 17. The Taurus is even in the back of my mind but most shops around my way don't carry them.
