I've heard a lot about them being pretty problematic but I'm no expert. They look cool though

If you're looking at picking one up for home defense or something along those lines your best bet in terms of reliability is gonna be a Mossberg or Remington pump [emoji]128077[/emoji][emoji]127998[/emoji]

Hmm I was thinking about getting some reloading equipment. I have a good amount of brass sitting around already, probably like 5 freezer bags worth lol.

On the other hand I do like the idea of getting something chambered in 45 lc. Believe it or not I've never fired a 45 lc in my life :smh: I've had a ton of Colt single actions, but they were all collector items (never been fired/cylinder never been spun).

I've never shot 45lc, but eventually I'd like to get into cowboy action shooting; it just looks a good old time. 45lc can be loaded from mild to wild. Hot loads are equal to or greater than 44 mag loads.

I hate playing chicken little, but now is the time to get what you want. AR's are cheap. Mags are cheap. Hi cap plastic pistols are (relatively) cheap. Ammo is (again, relatively) cheap and everything is plentiful. Now is the time to take a little bit of extra money, even if it's just $20 or $30 a month and buy another mag for your rifle or pistol, or an extra box of ammo or 2 to put away for a rainy day.

Election is a year away. We're just getting back stores regularly having ammo in stock after an event that happened over 2 years

With that $1200 you could get a dillon 650/550, 4 sets of dies, and 5 lbs of powder,5k primers, and a few thousand bullets and you're off and running. Especially shooting calibers like 45 and 357, you'll save at least 50% compared to buying regular ammo. I was loading 45acp for about $14 per 100 rounds. With the dillon, you can reasonably expect to load 400-500 rounds in an hour, maybe more when you get the hang of it.

On my little cheap lee press I can do 200 rounds in an hour. It's not like I have hours to spend reloading as I have 2 kids, full time job, commute...a life basically. But I can usually find 15-20 minutes per day to load 40 -50 rounds. Do that 5 times in a week and boom, I have 200 rounds for the range on sunday.

A lot of this is going to depend on your volume of shooting, goals, and life. If you shoot 2000 rounds or less per year, it might not make sense to reload. Or if you're someone that has more money than time than reloading might not make sense. For me, reloading makes the most sense

Thanks Magic much appreciated!!

Nice pickup on that Colt

I want a Mossberg pump next, just something to keep around the house.

Dope. I want a lever gun too. Kind of want to just go balls deep on this. It would probably be the last rifle I ever bought anyways. Clays are too much fun need more shotguns.

The wait is over: my first month of NT membership is up, and I can finally post in the General forum...

I wear an unusual shoe size (15 narrow), so most Nikes aren't an option for me.

With that in mind, my main interests on NT are gun- and "NT thick"-related threads

Just thought I'd introduce myself, and hopefully I'll get a chance to post some of my gun pics at some point. Unfortunately my work blocks pretty much all picture-hosting sites (tinypic, etc), so that makes it tough to upload.

And welcome. I think you'll find some good information in this thread, and this is place where people really try to help each other out. Real good folks in this thread.
