Charles Barkley is a notorious straight-shooter, but the naming his Nike signatures from the mid ’90s was considerably less straightforward. Pictured above is the Nike Air Max CB34, not to be confused with the strapped Air CB34 or this shoe’s successor, the Air Max2 CB 94. This is particularly baffling when you consider that the Air Max CB34 is sometimes referred to as ‘Air CB34 II’. A (desert) rose by any other name is still a sweet retro, with this pair resurrecting the OG Phoenix Suns colorway, complete with funky mid ’90s styling including the ‘backwards’ Swoosh on the right heel. These are set for a Holiday 2010 release, but you can grab a sample about six months early from jasonwhite9 on eBay.

what the hell are these? they look nothing like the same sneaker. those look like fakes.
look at how much is different compared to the OG:
dear nike: it's not much of a "retro" if you change the whole sneaker. those are a disgrace.

What I hear is that when they're putting together their retros, they do some of these little changes because they think they can improve up on the OG. I mainly think that little white strip above each air bubble is just supposed to make the air bubbles look bigger and hide how tiny they are in comparison, but at this point we know we'll never see OG sized Air Bubbles again. They did the same with the raiders BO Jacksons by changing a color here or there, thinking they were improving upon something. Enh, these are still pretty sick.

I might get flamed for this, but I like those samples better than these. I'd just take the bigger air bubble.

Those slight changes don't bother me one bit.
They actually make the sneaker "pop" a little more.

i like em.. but i may not cop until they go on sale. the white does make them stand out a little bit more.. u know how nike and jordan likes to make a slight difference to every shoe to keep the "OG" for the people who own the originals..

While saving a few of the pics to my phone,I have the ability to be able to zoom in mad close to the pics and the first three air bubbles appear to have that classic seam in them.I don't think the heel does though.

Nice to finally see some pics, I've been waiting for this one for quite a while. I know I'm definitely getting these but the white accent on the air bubbles is just weird. I also prefer clear air bubbles or something other than orange. Oh well, I guess it's better than nothing since the air bubble on both heels of my OGs are gone.
