Alright, so some of us have heard/seen/used that Sole Saver. But, how many of you have made your own? I went out and bought the clear contact paper from the store, the same one we used to use for covering our books when we were in grade school... many many years ago. I used it on my Puma's, my Jordan VI's, and intend on using it on all of my J's. It's an awesome idea, but have any of you tried this? It will save your soles greatly and prevent them from getting dirty. After every wear, throw them out. It's not like we wear our J's every single day.

There's this thing online, it's called The Official Sole Saver... you basically trace your shoe onto it, peal it off, and stick it on the bottom of your shoe, it's clear. So, why would you pay $20.00 for it, when you can pair 6 dollars and make a bunch yourself? Works for me.
 
yea they legit , i bought from them but imo they are not worth it. i bought some and put them on my space jams and when i took em off i had hell taking of the adhesive, they say to use alcohol but it dont come off that easy. I had to go and buy some goo gone that stuffy that remove sticky stuff and apply it several times to get that sticky adhesive from the bottom of my shoes, because you have to clean it off cause if you dont, dirt and other things will stick to your soles like a magnet.
 
Well, if you do this then you won't have to worry about cleaning the bottoms. Kinda balances it out, don't ya think?
 
Not really.

Buying the product, tracing it, cutting it, then taking it off and it will probably leave behind a residue like dude say - then you'll have to clean that off. Seems like a lot of work to me.

I just clean my soles after each wear with a toothbrush and water for like five minutes and I'm done.
 
Well, I already have the paper, they already have been cut out and ready for use. So basically when I stick them on (which takes 10 seconds), all I gotta do is take them off. Better then cleaning out grass, dirt, dust, etc. I dunno, that's me and I have no problem with it. Some may find it hard.

to me like op said just clean your soles after every wear, as i said when you take it off the sticky residue has to be cleaned off properly or else dirt, grass and whatever is just going to stick to it and make the soles look worse. since i took them off my space jams and have been washing the sole with soap water and a tooth brush they still look icy and brandnew. save your money
 
I just find it crazy to try to keep the dang SOLES of the shoes super proper clean....unless you step in crap or barf otherwise...it is not a big deal to me.
 
smh at dudes for flaming OP for trying to help. with all these clear sole releases coming out, this would be great help... i been thinking about getting some sole savers but $20 for 2 sets of sole savers is too expensive, especially since they are only meant to be worn about 2 or 3 times each. i dont know about yall but id rather clean off adhesive, then nasty dirt and grime that no matter how well you clean will still yellow at about the 6th wear like my SJs and 6s (which includes using seaglow)......
 
I just wash them with some dish soap and a scrubber after every wear. How do the soles look when the sole saver is on? I like to see the bottom of my J's.

They look the absolute same except just a darker coat.
 
yo i  payed 20 bucks for two pairs of sole savers but they sent me 6 pairs i guess they messed up any way i dont use them for my clear bottom kicks i on;y use them for my premier and titanium's xx3
 
i could care less about a sole saver. the bottom of your shoes are meant to get dirty. so do they have an upper shoe saver? i understand the logic of it, but really, it just doesn't make sense. but i guess. just my opinion.
seems like another opportunity for people to try to sell a shoe stating its DS and it's really not.

I only clean my soles if they are clear. Like stevesteve72 said just scrub them with some dish soap and water and you should be good. I've always wanted to buy those sole savers for my XI's but maybe ill try OP's idea.
 
I ordered a pair of solesavers the day after the release.

i guess they were feeling jolly cause they sent me two extras packs
 
Some of you guys are taking this a little too far, just wear your shoes people. Clean them after you wear them, keep clear soles in rotation so you dont wear them so often, and they will be fine. Ive worn my DMP 6's multiple times and they are still icy as ever.
