i see where you comming from RockDeep, all i see in the street is fake here and fake there. some cats dont realize or just dont care whether there fake. i havn't sold a pair from a collection yet and if i ever did it probably wont be DS cause i think its a waste of buying something you really wanted but giving it away because of more $$$. if you really need more money their are always other possibilities. that 150 that you still had before you spent it on a pair of sneakers could have still been in your pocket in the first place. but to each there own i guess.

i totally agree, however those true to the OG's will always know the true meaning behind these sneakers. all hypebeasts won't ever feel or relate to full concept of og sneakers. fakes and variants will linger, but hey, us jordan heads know what is real and what is plain whack... society has always been about fakin the funk when you can't be funky yourself. JB for life. @#%$ the retro colorway, it is about the OG and havin a pair. doublin up i think is just for security, IMO i want to maintain my style and have it last as long as possible. it would be ashame to just buy one pair, have it crack on you, and force yourself, if you really wanted to, to buy another DS pair from some re-seller... one stock, one to rock... tradition continues

ed to collect Jordans, so having the chance to have the Jordans that I grew up with or wanted as a child is great for me. It's like I said before the only way for Jordan Brand to survive is to follow the Adidas Superstars or the Chucks route and just make a classic shoe that is easy to find, at a good price and whose quality is strong If they did that, then I would continue buying them

Disagree to some extent. I agree collecting shoes might not be as "profitable" as before, but more so because JB has mis-managed the brand, dilluted its appeal and prestige which an avalanche of retros and whack colorways, and reduced the number of people that would look into collecting kicks and Js. As to pirates dilluting value of authentics, naw, don't agree. LV, other luxury brands had been battling knockoffs for over a hundred years, but because they know how to build a brand and loyality, there is always a population of people that care enough to seek out the real thing. Once people stop caring what are real and what are fake Js, then the brand is screwed, but that is due to lack of interest in the brand, not success by bootleggers. My 2 cents.
 
Most the time I buy one pair only... Sometimes Ill buy two but if so I sell it on the RD are around the time... I dont want to sell any of my old kicks... I buy them for myself not to sell... Like dude said there really isnt any money in it in the long run.

If Vegas was taking bets, I'd put the farm on the line that fakes are gonna have a landmark year in the Year of the Pack beginning in only a few months actually.

Rock, I know you can't divulge everything, but I'm a little perplexed by the bootleg 360's. If they're using the same materials, are they inside jobs or simply cutting edge thievery by the bootleggers?

On a side note, I could really care less about fakes anymore. I lol in my head & joke with my coworkers when we see someone rocking Invisible Woman AJ 3's or Laser XIII's, but even though I can see the spot-on fakes from experience, it doesn't move me like it used to.

I guess it's simply cause the shoes don't hold the same meaning anymore. When they do decide to retro models dear to me, they get bastardized by cut, form, Nike Air, etc. so I'm left with very few options. I honestly have debated whether I would cop some XI's off ebay if they were spot-on in a 14, something that would've been blasphemous only a year or 2 ago.

Anyways, best of luck to the resellers who are smart enough to hoard the limited SB's instead.

This has nothing at all to do with comparing Jordan and Lebron... And it has nothing to do with whether you personally like Lebron or not...

But for you to say that Lebron is hype is ridiculous... I wont let someone who obviously doesnt know anything about the game of basketball get away with a stupid statement like that...

Its the individuals choice to do whatever they want with their money. If people wanna buy fakes then let them. If people want to stock up on # 4 pairs then let em. Jordans are too expensive these days. If all you do is spend every paycheck on shoes, thats really pathetic.
 
The sad thing is, I don't really care.
