So I decided to update this thread and give it some new life.  We've seen countless retro's of the 89 Flight low, but none of the High or the solo flight lines from 1989 or 1990.  I've been running a petition on my site for a year and a half now with 90 votes on the 1990 Flight & Solo Flight and only 25 for the 89 Flight & Solo Flight shoes.  Hopefully we can get some more cooking

Perfect combo.

I think the Air Flight Lites did okay...... so i don't understand what's keeping them.

If not these, then at least 89 highs.

I always find it funny when guys that are younger hate on a classic shoe they don't know anything about.  Then, when they drop they are the same people hyped as hell trying to buy by anymeans necessary.

I understand that, from a media standpoint, The Fresh Prince and Seinfeld both rocked sneakers. However, both were cornballs from whom nobody took fashion advice. If you said you rocked some joints because you saw Seinfeld or Will Smith with them, you got clowned.

Honestly, I don't remember anyone wearing sneakers because someone in the media wore them.  People wore certain shoes because they looked good, were expensive, and were heavily marketed.   Solo flights were relative to the Jordan's .  The solo flight was one of the top tier products offered by Nike at the time.  1990 you had the Tech challenge for tennis, the trainer sc for cross training, the air max 90 for running and basketball had the command force pump, the Jordan V, the air force V, and  the solo flight.  The 89 flight has been retro'd to death (although no high top) but the 1990 solo flight ignored.  Time for some action.

^ Or why not both?

I'd be down for a pair of Flight 90's... These were/are classics. Like Tre said, back then these were a top-tier basketball shoe.

Correct.  In fact, if anything, it was the other way around.  People in the media wore certain sneakers BECAUSE they were popular with the mainstream public.  It's not like the Fresh Prince was trying to set a fashion trend.  It was more like he was trying to show he knew what was up by advertising that he wore the popular shoes.  CuZ hE fReSh, Yo!!11111

the first pair posted are air flight '90s... so according to the title they don't really belong here. but the solo flight was basically just a less-frills, cheaper version of the air flight '90. the visible air unit is the most obvious change.

mcdollar dope flights I had those white and black ones on the bottom back in 02/03 wore them for a few years with no issue when without warning the little area that splits the air bubble in two sections began to crumble. My solo flights white and red NEVER gave me any issues, not sure if its because of the lack of visible air or what not, but they held up to numerous long walks around NYC and were not pampered. Had the black solo flights as a kid would love to see them re-issued I know i have pics of me wearing them once i find them ill post up.

I'd welcome an Air Flight 90 retro... If my memory serves me right, Scottie Pippen rocked the white/red and black/white colorways.

Well I'm old enough to remember those, and that's my reaction too

I'm sort of biased though, I'm not that fond of high tops, and especially those since they're like super high tops

^not that fond of high tops but you have one of the most coveted high tops of all time as an avy!
