🦉The Official Drake Thread6️⃣ - Scary Hours 3 11.17.23

What are you talking about it not just about selling dope and living in the trap house...what those rapper speak on is the everyday reality that goes on in urban areas...people act like this is something new in hip hop..did you listen to biggie or wu-tang..

Point me to the Meek songs where he's talking about what's really going on, I would like to give them a listen... Seriously...

I think its actually selfish as a listener to be like "no dont talk about social issues cuz you dont ever talk about social issues".... like what type of logic is that? you gotta ask yourself if you are helping or hurting the situation with that line of thinking.

Nobody's telling him don't talk about it, he can speak on whatever he wants. It's just funny coming from him. This is like if Tiger Woods started talking like Jim Brown.

Mentioned yesterday cream freestyle...Trillest....even in that that new dj self freestyles he raps about how their knocking down the school in philly to build prisons..

Listen to his interviews he talks about his past altercation with the law and how the system have done him...same way other young black kids are being caught up..I know a few.

Go on his Instagram and shows his mug shot when he was 17 and was beaten up by cops..

You guys hear what you want..like I said what him and jeezy represent what most kids in the urban areas represent even if their not selling drugs..

Once again it's not about selling drugs..you guys pick that and run with it..many of the great talked about drugs...even drake try to throw drug refenences in his raps..

Once again guys like jeezy and meek represent a huge part of the urban plight..yes drugs and violence is just the reality of that..and this is coming from someone who come from that and never touch a drug in my life because I seen first hand what it does to families..maybe I'm just talking to wrong group of people..

Majority of people dont relate to them ******. Simple as that.

Yes and that's because the climate of hip hop has change..
It's more mainstream than ever..which means people don't won't to hear about whats really going on in the hoods no more.

It doesn't mean it shouldn't be spoken for..Go in the majority of the urban areas..most of them are riding with meek..their just not the voice of the social media wave..if you went by social media you would have thought meek sold 4 albums.. someone buying his albums..who you think it is..

Drakes mixtape sold more in 3 days than what Meek has sold in a week or two

I think we know who the people listening to

lmao meek 15 is almost up im shocked he still relevent . future took all dude album buzz . thats why he so mad. [emoji]128514[/emoji] that rico line had his soul burning slow . cant wait to hear his response tho. the super street thugs that he is .. smh twitting like a school girl

Once again I think drake is the best in the game...and I mess with drake for his clever word play..but can't think of nothing he ever said that I felt spoke to me..

Look at majority of drake fan base tho... U go up there and watch those old videos of a young, spoiled, well spoken Canadian kid those are the dudes that buy his albums also. U think those dudes buy meek mill albums? They can't relate to a word he's saying probably don't even understand what's going on. Go back and look at old meek videos. U see a poor kid, trouble with the law, nappy braids walking around the hood free styling everyday n **** and that's his fan base. If I had to pick who I relate to more its meek seeing how growing up in Philly ain't to different than growing up in Detroit. I'm far from a super meek fan but I understand where son is coming from and dc1 the **** he was spitting I could relate too. I could see why Drake fan base is so big because seeing how hip hip is on a bigger scale and crossed over with this pop ****, they relate to son, teenage white kids love and support son.

This is ********, you go to any Drake show and you find everybody, hood ******, surburban kids and everybody in between.

Meek fan base ain't only hood ****** either, there's a grip of surburban kids buying his albums and going to his shows, this type of thinking is dated.

Like there not a ton of middle class and upper middle class black kids that never lived in the trap and would relate to Drake more.

Like we really gonna pull out the same ignorant stereotypes about our race to argue this for Meek.

Sometimes it doesn't matter who better lyrically..meek is way more relatable to some people than drake is point blank so some automatically Takes meek side...it would be like Andre 3000 and young jeezy..yeah Andre 3000 would run laps around jeezy lyrically but most people connect to jeezy more.
I think you are picking and choosing what you want to hear. I personally think people can relate to Drake ... The hustle of bagging females, relationships up and downs, etc than Meek yelling. Actually that's about the only thing I can see mostly everyone relating to, him screaming.

You make mention of Biggie ... Dude didn't only talk about moving weight, hr talk about a dream about having fun about ******* and money. Plus he was a logical genius. Jeezy and WuTang had/have bars man.

Talking about hood problem takes a special talent that Meek doesn't have. He type of rap doesn't allow him to connect to everyone.

PAC is the best ever about talking about hood problems and you see how he did it.

I just don't see how anyone could be siding with Meek on this issue ... He wants to talk about fake and he is sign to MMG .. I think that alone shoes the dude is salty and he is just trying to slander.
