🦉The Official Drake Thread6️⃣ - Scary Hours 3 11.17.23

HAHA! People are funny man. This is the same Drake we've had for the past 6 years now. All in his feeling, soft, singing, rapping, underwater sounding beats. This is Drake. This album is good. I won't go to say it's classic by any means but it's a good DRAKE album. It's the closest thing he's done to Take Care since Take Care and everyone always regards that has his best work, so for people to say this is weak and soft is just really funny to me. Grammy's is the only trash song on here. And real talk if you like Hotline Bling and not this album that doesn't make a lick of sense to me.

I hate using this argument but if Views were made by anyone else no one would call it trash. It's average for him and that's a problem for ppl who were anticipating Views heavily.

It's getting good reviews and it's gonna have the biggest sales of the year so Drake accomplished what he wanted but there are fans who were disappointed.
Who would make a rap/hip-hop album like this though?

The album definitely isn't trash, but it should've been so much more. He don't even sound interested. The real star of the album is 40

Hotline Bling actually got a good melody js

I'm a Drake fan, I want the album to be the classic it was marketed as and hyped up to be, but it's just not hitting for me yet. NWTS took a bit for me to be as high on it as I am, so I ain't quitting on this one yet.

For sure. Kanye's production and features were huge for Jay from the Blueprint all the way to WTT. Also his connections, NO ID, etc. Kanye played a big role in Jay's career towards the end.

if this wasn't a drake thread I would debunk all of this, and production isn't riding someone's wave. no one even knew who Kanye was until 05, so mentioning jay riding his wave on the blueprint because ye did some beats is ridiculous. Of course Kanye played a major part in his career but the word wave riding is a little too much.

i think Meek will get him this time around, once his House Arrest is over it it's go time. this album is soft as baby cheeks and it will be used as ammunition against him.
I'm not even gonna waste my time and listen. It's dudes I been arguing with in the past on ig disappointed as hell. Feels good man [emoji]128522[/emoji]. Now all I need is lebron to lose in the finals again and I'll be done with hating for a minute, Ls speak for themselves.

It's funny that I've pretty much had nothing but disgust for Meek Mill ever since "Tupac Back", and thought his Drake disses were laughable amongst a laughable beef, but his last 4 tracks he released have me more interested in his stuff than I ever have been. Will give him props for making me interested in his stuff instead of having an automatic facepalm when he drops something.

This album along with Take Care would be consider R&B/Soul. There are only a handful of songs that he is rapping.

For sure it's the closest he's been musically since Take care not judging by quality tho.

But we really just gonna ignore the dancehall Drake's existence :smh:

nah i'd still say it's trash from somebody else. people just being too defensive for this man. if the album sucks people just need to admit it. i'm not sugarcoating it,

This album is PURE trash. Who figured this dude would fall off like this.

Funny though, me and my boy were discussing yesterday how all of the biggest rap artists with the most longevity had to collaborate and ride somebody else's wave later in their careers. Like Jay-Z been riding Kanye's wave for awhile. Kanye was riding Cudi's wave at a point and his last album he has so many writers and features that it's damn near a collab album. The Weeknd was supposed to be Drake's dude and he bounced. And now it seems like Drake is trying to stay as close to Future as he can.

I think not building strong enough relationships in the industry got dude on an island by himself out in Canada with 40 and some yes men, and this album is the result.

Jay z been riding Kanye wave for a while??

I'm sure someone else could give a further back example, but....

Wow this is 2016 rap(?) for ya
