🦉The Official Drake Thread6️⃣ - Scary Hours 3 11.17.23

I wouldn't say Hov was riding Ye since the Blueprint days but he definitely kept Hov from being that out of touch old ***** since he came back from his Black Album break.

This album is cool but it's only average. He had the perfect storm to make a classic.

His subject matter getting old, y'all **** on Meek for the Rollie and Audemar ****, but all Drake talks about is imaginary haters and being passive aggressive towards women.

Should have did the double album with 9 slow/dancehall songs and 9 of his best rap songs of his career.

finally someone points this out, Drake's been doing this for 4 albums so far and it's getting redundant.

This album is PURE trash. Who figured this dude would fall off like this.

Funny though, me and my boy were discussing yesterday how all of the biggest rap artists with the most longevity had to collaborate and ride somebody else's wave later in their careers. Like Jay-Z been riding Kanye's wave for awhile. Kanye was riding Cudi's wave at a point and his last album he has so many writers and features that it's damn near a collab album. The Weeknd was supposed to be Drake's dude and he bounced. And now it seems like Drake is trying to stay as close to Future as he can.

I think not building strong enough relationships in the industry got dude on an island by himself out in Canada with 40 and some yes men, and this album is the result.
Jay z been riding Kanye wave for a while??
I'm sure someone else could give a further back example, but....

flame me i dont care but WTT is one of the best albums to come out in the last 5 years.

one of my favorites ever

nah i'd still say it's trash from somebody else. people just being too defensive for this man. if the album sucks people just need to admit it. i'm not sugarcoating it,

There's only song that could be given label honestly. Not defensive but I'm not for the hyperbole that comes when comes when someone doesn't like an album.

I've seen the term trash get thrown at albums like TPAB which we all would agree is pretty much a classic. It's your opinion tho so I respect it.

If this has been covered in the thread I apologize in advance....

Digital release today and physical release on Tuesday? Went to a Target and Best Buy and haven't seen the album in stores.

Physical copies hit shelves next Friday

Drake is tired as hell at this point.

Don't ever want to hear y'all compare him to Kendrick again

Drake wishes he could have a album collection as diverse as section 80/gkmc/tpab

TLOP > this trash

the truth is.... if you're listening to this album looking at drake as a rapper, this album is trash. hardly any rap. if you see drake as a singer... the album is just OK. lots of singing, but the level of singing is pretty abysmal. if you dont like Rihanna - work, you won't like ANY of the singing on this album. if you like dancehall, this is unacceptable. his fake patois is cringeworthy.

if you like lyrics, you should be tired of him talking smack about the same girls during the same time period of his life while he does the same things to bounce back from relationships that went sour. if you like beats... well, thats up to you.

as for me? this is straight trash. 4 good songs out of 20.

with all the hype this album shouldn't have sounded this dull, there's some moments where he could of put more energy but he didn't capitalize on it. it's sad cause the songs that leaked off of here could've made it much more listenable. for example that 2nd part of U With Me is from the leaked song Views From The 6, that's what the album should of sounded like.

The production he got on this album is pretty decent though, even better engineering. You can see where he wanted to go with the album, but it seems as though he was like "yeah let me throw this on there for the radio".

That said, you can pull quite a few tracks out of this album and make a solid effort, problem is you have to skip more to get to the tracks that do indeed sound cohesive sonically.

Maneesh Isaac Hayes influences floated.

NT comics out in full force :smh:

With the title Views From The 6, I was expecting more of a soundtrack for Toronto. Like put the world on to Toronto's waves, music, vibe, etc. I don't know, I feel like something was missing. I can't put my finger on it, but something isn't there. Of course I'll run it back a couple more times before my final judgement though.

Also, 40 was brilliant with this project.

there's far more singing than rapping on this album that's for sure, i guess this is his way or reaching a different fanbase. maybe that's why he dropped IYRTITL, that project had him rapping far more than ever.

Toronto has a wave? Thought they were mostly riding everyone else's.

Man Drake has been redundant since album 1. He makes the same songs and subject matter over and over again. You either like his content or you don't. For me he's always been a vibe artist and this album has the vibe I want to hear just like TML and TC. To point out this album has having bad content you might as just point out his whole career.

you SLEEP. toronto has rap in a headlock right now. most of the new rappers making noise are either from toronto, or  jacking torontos swag. and im REALLY disappointed theres no eestbound or wondagurl on this. then again, theres hardly any rap....so why go to those masterminds

 at jay riding Kanye wave on WTT when ye got washed on every song

Going in to WTT Blueprint 3 outsold MBDTF and had more hits so I'm not sure how hov was riding kanyes wave

I'll admit that MBDTF was more enjoyable for me to listen to though, that and WTT is probably the last time I've enjoyed kanyes music :smh:

Views from the 6 > TLOP

Also he's kind of a hypocrite, he goes through women like nothing and he has or is believed to have intercourse with people's girlfriends and wives.

Great response bruh.. I think we all kinda expected a lil more. Grammys is the worst song Drake has ever put on an album. I would call it careless though.

Can't front hearing the intro was a letdown. I was expecting Tuscan Leather 2 with added horns with a full orchestra and **** just stunting on Meek and everyone he had to deal with in 2015. I was expecting a lot more direct trash talking on here. But then I heard Views and he brought it.
