But nah TC is Drake's Reasonable Doubt

So Q Miller been around since 06?

Drake was wack as **** in 06, drakes skills improved when he met HUSH

Ok, the topic was whether he writes/raps...he was more technical/intricate back then, but that wasn't getting him where he was aiming for, so as Jay said, "he dumbed down for the audience and doubled his dollars"

If anything his writers regressed his "lyrical content" but pushed him to the stratosphere hes in now

Know Yourself was a banger. But that was a hit. And he ain't write it.

Hold On was a hit and he ain't write it.

He doesn't even write all his features.

Drake is like Diddy but Drake makes it sound better. He's a decent singer and good rapper.

Actually US sales........

US top-selling albums of 2016: #1 “25” 1,334,000 | #2 Views 1,196,000 | #3 Lemonade 1,051,000.

I honestly don't think diddy ever cared about rapping, I could be wrong though. I just felt like he did it because he could

You right. Before the writing allegations his only hit was Best I Ever Had. All the hits came after the writing/biting allegations. Most Drake fans don't care about the hits, we want the album cuts :pimp:

Pretty much

Puff didn't care. He just wanted to be the best hustler in the game. He didn't care if people knew he had writers or not. He didn't hide them in a tent and say "Shhhhh... don't tell anybody you're here".

He kinda had to once BIG died.

He was the familiar face that had to do it so Bad Boy would survive.

The thing was that Diddy never stunted himself as a great rapper, I would compare him to DJ Khaled, well except way more talented of course. Or a variant Dr. Dre would be more accurate.

Drake stans been hyping Drake as a lyrical jaggurnaut and even Drake himself said he was "upping his bars" at interviews, and that Quentin Miller reference tracks sure did hurt that case.
He's a good pop star, but a good rapper? Nah. Anyone got a rap quotable from Drake that wasn't from IYRTITL?

  @ believing he only had writers for the r&b and "trap" songs. That doesn't even make sense. So he uses writers for songs that aren't dense at all in subject matter but when it's time to get technically proficient on bars on his more personal and  introspective work ...all of a sudden he's a full time creative and pens everything? Ok.

What? Why doesn't it make sense that he writes his PERSONAL songs, but doesn't write the non-personal ones?

For the record, I couldn't care less if he writes them or not. I just don't see how it's hard to believe.

All I'm saying is post a bar from the top of your head that makes you go "that is some great rap right there"

I'm waiting....

People really consider IYRTITL quotable?

I consider that catchy b grade Drake bars.
IYRTITL was written by someone else, it already disqualifies

Maybe "personal" wasn't the right word but basically the songs where he's not doing "trap rap" (whatever that means) that everyone seems to think that's where he's best. If you're skilled enough to do that all on your own...I'm not buying the idea that it takes a "special ability" that he doesn't have to downgrade bars.

I've even seen someone suggest that he has writers because he's so busy and doesn't have time to write all of his raps. Cut the ****.

I also like how ppl act like this started with Quentin Miller. Them allegations were around for a while. Meek was just the biggest (and loudest) voice to put it out there. It's an open secret in the music industry.
Push been trying to tell us...

Damn Push did say that a while back...

I wonder what would have happened if Push did what Meek did around the Take Care era when they were beefing given that Pusha was solidified in his legacy at the time and Drake wasn't really Teflon like he is now until that summer-fall run in 2013...

4 PM in Calabasas is so fire.

So many shots.

"Can't nobody holddd me down.."

I'm just gonna say it, how do people really think lyrically hes better than pusha or Kendrick? Literally baffles me. Makes me believe drake fans really don't like rap.

I been saying
I'm a fan of Drake, but to say he's top 5 rapper now is comical
He's great at making moody hip hop songs, but he ain't too go to when you want that lyrical content

Unless you be missing your ex or salty she got with another person.

Push is my favorite rapper ever, but he's not saying Drake's name either. Nobody is, save for Meek. People aren't rushing to get into battles with Drake. They're just trying to bait him.

When Push had a problem with Wayne, he was very clear about it. But he's definitely ducked a question or two surrounding Drake.

And unless directly called out, I don't see him going at Push. It's well documented that he was a super fan.

His issue with Wayne seems more personal because them dudes know each other. With Drake it seems like ***** I know you secrets and imma poke at u and make u make me do it. Meek was the only ***** that jumped off the porch and said it, it's a reason why nobody else did. S/O Meek for being brave but if he never has any mainstream success again he should know why.
