That's all fine and all true, but to me his raps suck

Man 808's is lowkey my favorite Ye' album.

I LOVE only one. Love it.

As a fan, I genuinely wish he would just ditch the rap and go full blown 808's and heartbreak / blood on the leaves / only one Ye'. The Raps are just too cringeworthy now for me. I can't get jiggy with it.

I thought his verse on "Blessings" was dope.... Same with Sanctified last year.

Sidenote.... if I really enjoy "Preach" and "Wednesday Night Interlude" how likely on a scale of 1-10 would you recommend I check out Partynextdoor?

What's the overall consensus?

PND's verse on this tape has me not wanting to check his other stuff out. I been hearing a lot about him.

my two favorite ye albums are also 808s (which is wild because i hated it at first, but when my ears matured, bruuuh :smokin) and also MBDTF

You're crazy Party's verse was fire and vintage PND.

"I put that Party tape on, you know what's going on, I know what's going"

Party isn't the type of artist who you'd "check for verses". He's not even a rapper.

It's vibe music.

Video Games been responsible for bangers

Never Been by Wiz one of my favorites.

Seen It All by Jeezy too.

He regressed lyrically. I think he has reached his peak as an elite rapper. I'm hoping this is as tape full of throwaways because **** sounds uninspired and Drake is on cruise control lyrically. The vibe of this project is dope but I miss his old flows and cadences. 6pm is NY is so underwhelming for that track series. 5am may have been his peak.

My standouts are Jungle, Know Yourself, 6 Man, 10 Bands, You and the 6, and 6pm in NY

I haven't really felt drakes music since so far gone but from NTWS onward dude has done no wrong to me. I also think I just have a better connection with his music since NWTS because I went though a ton of girl issues. Nothing whinny and crying but I get when he says stuff like "Are we still good" and the lyrics to "Furthest thing" and "Days in the east"

son...I JUST got PND album....smh I take a personal L for waiting this long to check him out.

To me , I'm currently still listening to it now, but so far..every single beat/production from 1.Welcome to the party-7 tbh  is mental.

Clearly buddy went a different route flow-wise with this.  Like it's blatantly obvious that he purposely switched things up, and I'm no Drake stan so I'm not even trying to make excuses.

And like I mentioned earlier, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.  But if you heard 6 PM in NY, I don't know how you can say he's regressed.  When he wants to he can still spit like the old Drake, IMO.  This isn't a case of true regression like Prodigy from Mobb Deep--this is just a dude switching things up on a "throwaway" album.
