🦉The Official Drake Thread6️⃣ - Scary Hours 3 11.17.23

I was just about to post that. Numbers do not always reflect quality, moreso popularity. Views is by far Aubrey's worst critically acclaimed project. And mediocre even by the user standards.

BPT, Left Right, I just Wanna Party, Who Do You Love, BBBB, etc. >>>>>>>

I'm tryna hear YG with the slaps. I'm not trying to hear YG actually try to "rap" and show off his improvement in that area.

That 400 Summers tape bout to slap

If ratings matter, Yeezus is a masterpiece
If sales matter, Views is one of the greatest albums ever

Which one ya'll riding with?

Neither. Yeezus got good acclaim from critics but they think anything Kanye does is genius. User score is far lower though. Hell Still Brazy is better than Yeezus according to both.

As for Views, Aubrey's popularity is not in dispute, his quality of work is though.

Chess Move, Aubrey too big right now. Even brought out Lebron in Columbus. Each city he keep bringing out someone legendary.

Idk if he has done LA yet, my bet is Kdot

stupid ebro. a 40 year old man making up stories about other men

went to the tour. drake came out around 930 (for those who hate waiting thru opening acts like me)

i really enjoyed the show. the set wasn't as fancy as the jungle tour/would you like a tour but it was still lit

paid 155 (times 2) for a pair right side front row seats. was a litterally click away from buying front row 700 tickets

When reviews and acclaim gets brought up it just ends the conversation. Yeezus is a good album and deserved the acclaim it got but Its all subjective.

Drake has both acclaim and huge sales. Views was more the latter.

I know, I was saying that to show that neither of those arguments don't really mean much, both are moot points IMO

If you say so. And if that's the case y'all def shouldn't be stanning the way y'all are talking about he selling this much, boy can't miss, etc. When clearly as a fan of his myself, his art has been in steady decline for a minute now.

Don't say 'ya'll'...thats not me using sales to validate anything

The point that I was trying to make before is that dudes hate Drake so much that they're willing to make up some extravagant theory on why his sales are so high when it's not far-fetched at all that he's doing the numbers that he's doing.

There is no magic formula he's popular and has a well oiled machine around him as well as his own factory of people feeding him their best stuff.

I advise you to listen to the album of 2016, once more. YG's album discography is damn near flawless. "My Krazy Life" & "Still Brazy" are back to back classics. You must not be listening right, my dude. YG got the West Coast on lock.
Nowhere close to classics when he has a basic generic sound.

Budden might as well call it quits.

Ever since I saw 50 Cent shoot himself in the foot from his declining sales after talking all that 'sales matter', I never cared about numbers ever again

He went from 10 mil, to around 5, to 2, to gold :smh:
