🦉The Official Drake Thread6️⃣ - Scary Hours 3 11.17.23

If what people are saying is that Drizzy can't be deserving of the praise he gets, an objective person could say the same about many others, Hov being one of em.

Jay does not have a team dudes writing for him. The comparison is off. We can compare what Drake does to what Kanye or Dre does but they never tried to hide it.

QM got credited on albums. That would suggest that Drake didn't try to hide it. Consequence was just on interview saying he came up with the Encore hook on TBA. Didn't get credited on the album. Help is help. The comparison isn't as off as you'd like to think fam.

All facts. Dude is an outstanding pop artist but that rapper ****..... Nah. He's entertaining but he's still just acting to me. Rapper Drake is just another character he plays.

The funny thing is...there's not even necessarily anything wrong with this. I completely get it. Drake is a BUSINESS. I have absolutely NO problem with him having writers.

It's the fans who seem somewhat embarrassed or hurt by ppl pointing out the writer thing.

I agree, it's not necessarily bad. I expect it in pop for artists to adapt and take on new personas for different projects. Different writers give you different moods to work with.

And QM didn't get credit for writing the whole Rico verse.

Like I said unless dudes was writing verses/songs for Jay the comparison is off.

Heres a video on the fade to black dvd where Kanye is doing the bridge/hook to lucifer that he created. Go to 1:31

When Jay went in that booth whose verse do you think he spit????
I can't believe you keep trying to draw a comparison from a chorus/hook/bridge to a whole damn song :smh:
Hell in the early 2000's people used a damn sped up soul sample as a chorus, but wrote they own damn verses

Jay is an MC, let's get that clear. Drake isn't. he's more of a songwriter more than a MC. it's like when 50 Cent bragged about giving Game his hit records, yea it helped him in the mainstream level but this dude Game was already a lyrical assasin on the mic. whether he got help for a hook isn't on the level of Drake's reference tracks which all had QM's lyrics all over it.

It's gonna be hilarious when Drake finally addresses this in an interview and says he doesn't give a **** about being in anyone's top 5 or top 10 and he's trying to be the biggest artist in the world and all his stans are gonna act like they've felt the same way all along and never tried to force him into those conversations.

What I've said from the start, and what I'm still saying now, is help is help and it happens more times than you all are willing to accept. Hov took lines from other rappers and got hook help. That's fax and not something I'll debate. If there is slander to be given to those who have gotten an assist in rap, you can't exclude Hov. Simple as that if you're willing to look at things objectively. I'm not arguing the caliber of rapper Drake is when compared Jay.

You don't rock with the guy, yet he somehow manages to find his way into your posts. You should evaluate things my g.

I think people are coming at Drake for getting help on verses and not his hooks.

No one cares if you get hook help.

People pick and choose what "help" they care about. But, like I said, take the hooks out of the argument and Hov still took lines from other rappers habitually back in the day. Imo, that doesn't discredit his body of work. He's Hov for Christ sake. But people are willing to discredit Aubrey like he's the first successful person to violate this unwritten law in hip hop.

Like I said a few pages back, what we're seeing with Drake is unprecedented in Hip Hop. We've NEVER seen a rapper with this much evidence (call it what you want, I couldn't give two *****) against him when it comes to these ghostwriter/stealing songs claims. Never. This guy has **** going against him at every phase of his career. THAT is the damning part imo. So yea, help is help. But not when you got Ns claiming to write **** for you going alllllllll the way back to your first mixtape, and force feeding you flows and deliveries since then. What part of Hip Hop is that man? Again, you all keep making excuses and justifying that.

Name me one other rapper right now who could get away with that without getting clowned?

There's no difference. The most lyrical rappers on Earth are probably never heard of because of their inability to make catchy music.

The Jay Z vs Nas debate is solely based on this reason alone.

2007-2009: what? This Degrassi dude trying to rap? Lmaooo

2010: TML, he's just hot right now, it's a fad

2011: TC, I mean yea, but we aint tryna hear that emotional stuff

2012-2013: He's riding everyones wave! He just has hits cause he's a wave rider! NWTS is good buttt..._______

2014-2015: His body of work is soft, IYRTITL drops, I mean yea he got bangers but he's really an R&B *****, WATTBA drops, he's riding Futures wave omg, Meek is gonna kill him!, Drake wins the battle (no matter how you slice it), Meek isnt a real rapper, Drake is just more popular etc

2016: Views sucked, I havent liked Drake all these years but I'm still gonna listen to his album, his sales are fabricated, Joe Budden, Flex, Ebro, Em gonna end him!, all shambles

^ Diary of an anti-drake stan throughout the years

Drake a lil *****

Wana talk all that macho **** in a arena like if he would even be down to square up wit meek, but then use as much police as he can to his advantage.

Straight sucka.

Aimt nothin hard or respectable about a man runnin his mouth and then runnin on feet afterwards. What was the point of talkin down if you aint gona do nothin but record music?!
