🦉The Official Drake Thread6️⃣ - Scary Hours 3 11.17.23

I don't see the correlation of race vs. music knowledge.

You got dudes in here that praise Fantano

And those sites, as influential and popular as they may be, at the end of the day, it's all opinionated.

Drake been the most popular/biggest artist for a while now ...but he certainly not the best rapper

N yea complex sucks

Bro Complex just named Drake the best Rapper of 2015, and he'll probably be the best rapper of 2016 as well.

This legit might be the cringiest accolade I've seen dropped in here  :smh:

A couple hours after they posted that list they had a brand new article up saying "actually, Future is the best rapper of 2015 "

They drop like 20 "best of" lists a day, literally just trolling for clicks

Staying revelation on IG and SC counts?

Fab? What song he dropped lately that's in rotation in the last 5 years.

Don't get me wrong that Soul Tape was dope. But nobody is checking for Fab fam

Lol you said all that needs to be said. Don't get me started on that boring mf
His jersey selection more interesting than his music

Complex staff consist of only 4 blacks out of 24 people total.
Pitch fork only has 4 black writers out of 44 total.
Vice -ZERO
Rolling Stone- zero
Noisey- 2 blacks out of 25 total
Buzzfeed- 4 blacks out of 94

This is why I don't care about any of those articles or ******** metric scores y'all be posting. A majority group of hipsters is not going to tell me what's good hiphop and what's not

These #'s illustrate a much deeper problem.

Who in here has Drake in their top 5?

Honestly I don't know where to put Drake he really has his own Lane, definitely not a Diddy, Dre or ye hell not even pitbull of Flo Rida. I never cared about weeknd, majid jordan, PND giving him R&b or pop music but the QM verse thing ****** me up. I can deal with a hook but verses nah b

I think it will tarnish his legacy as a rapper and anytime his mentioned in top 5 that will be the argument against it. Then again dude has had a unprecedented run at the top and is widely considered a rapper I can't call it man
What exactly separates him from Ye?

 oh NOW those folks aren't black so they don't count  ****** be QUICK to post them metric scores and other **** when it comes to Kendrick and Drake stuff doe

Jay has also never been a high seller like that,

The culture hasn't been what we've known it as for years. All of us might not even consider complex but for everyone of us who doesn't there's 1000 people who do. You can't own a major network of sites like Complex does and not have an effect on opinions. That's just how it is.

Besides Beyoncé, Jay-z and Eminem, no other r&b artist that went multi in the 90's would go multi in 2016

Considering Jay's overall success, his sales are decent. His success is mainly from other ventures.

How do you figure his success is mainly from other ventures? EVERYTHING happened because of his success as a rapper.

Those sales are better than decent. Jay has always sold very well.

It's like some of y'all are living a different history than the rest of us
