🦉The Official Drake Thread6️⃣ - Scary Hours 3 11.17.23

Why would he wanna be a biggie? Wayne has biggies catalogue times 10.... Does biggie even have 100 songs? Lmaooo

Yeah Wayne got way more songs and that don't mean ****.

Disc 1 of Life After Death is only 12 songs and that alone is better than anything Wayne has done.

Em is/was idk anymore, the best technical rapper
Jay the best longevity/bar setting rapper, any rapper from here on out will be measured against Jay

If that isnt an indication of "best rapper" idk what is

I'm certainly not at all placing Wayne anywhere near top 5 all time. But as far as his generation/era goes...he's up there.

Wayne was the best at saying he was the best rapper.

Every other rapper let the public decide. Well besides LL, and by the time he was calling himself that, those days were long over.

Wayne was like it worked for TI, let me see if they'll fall for it.

The era of self proclaimed rappers.
Ti- king of the South
Wayne-best rapper alive
Lil scrappy [emoji]128514[/emoji] prince of the South
Lil Jon king of Crunk
Only one I think the people agree with is Lil jon.

Y'all keep talking about how Wayne doesn't "talk about anything"...and that's cool.

But from a technical rapping standpoint, he was elite at one point in time. That shouldn't be up for debate.

Wayne really did just start calling himself the best rapper alive, out the clear blue sky, and people were just like..."alright. cool." I think we just wanted a hero, at the time.

"The best rapper alive, since the best rapper retired"

He first said that after Hov's retirement and he ran with it

Fab has never been considered the best at any point, the hell if Lil Wayne was ever the best.

Hell, he was going to do a project with Juelz, and Juelz wasn't even the best in Dip Set.

Now that you mention it, that *is* at the end of Dirt Off Your Shoulders. It's even funnier to me now. Like...rap fans took Jay's retirement super seriously. It wasn't a commonly held belief that he would ever rap again. So much so that we just let Wayne be the new best rapper alive, as if Jay had died.

Pretty much. Still blows my mind how big a deal Jay saying he was 'retiring' was. He really left a huge void that we thought we'd never fill.

Fake it 'til you make it gotta be the realest **** ever.

I'll take Wayne's about nothing raps over whatever it is that ya'll think that cornball Eminem was "great" at. Yes he could "rap" from a technical standpoint but his music aged like milk. I could care less about rankings but if im stranded on an island and had to pick one's music to be stuck w/...I'll go with Wayne.

Yeah. That was on Bring It Back. When I heard that **** I was like "huh".

I can't knock his confidence. And he did go on great run. Same thing with Tip. He said he was the king then he put out great albums and had a great career.

Anybody who says otherwise got Mountain Dew pumping in their veins and curses at their mother.

For as much as ****** trash Drake and say he's only where he is because of the machine behind him...i'd love to hear those same people's opinions on Eminem.

^First guy to stay on topic all morning lol.  This might be one of the smoothest thread hijackings I've seen in a long time. Drake has only been brought up twice in like the past 4 pages.
