🦉The Official Drake Thread6️⃣ - Scary Hours 3 11.17.23

Both Wayne and Em had weak subject matter. As I got older I listened to both of 'em less and less. Em is definitely the better rapper though.
I don't think Em has anything to rap about.

I think everyone gets to that point, especially when you get money and fame. There is no struggle. You're just going through the motions.

I don't think Kanye, 50, Em, Jay....have anything to rap about. Not anything we can really relate to.

I think certain rappers can still do it, because they're going through a lot of trials and tribulations in life, like Scarface

but a lot of them need motivation like Jay on American Gangsta or Nas with Life Is Good.

All these mixtape dudes are going to really have problems, because they throw out so much music. This will be the era of the ghostwriter.

Em's first 3 albums were good/great. The 8 Mile soundtrack had some great songs too (8 Mile, Rabbit Run). After that Em lost his hunger. Once he came back he was done.
Slim Shady EP and MMLP are the only true classic in my opinion. After that he has a double disc of greatest hits, but in saying that he's still one of the best to ever do it. I think he could rap circles around anyone, but his on record persona just got old quick.

Nah c'mon. Wayne success alone has him top 15-10 of all time.

As big as a Wayne stan as I am, he can't even get C5 out. Face the facts, that he wasn't who he was before. I haven't even heard "Free Weezy Album". :smh:

"No ceilings 2" wasn't that good.

Hopefully "Dedication 6" will be a resurrection.

He went off on this verse, though....

Tio ain't better than Wayne...he ain't eem better than Gucci or Jeezy .

This thread is all over the place . Views really wasn't a good album. One Dance and Controlla are amazing....but the album largely falls flat. It's crazy how it's still selling.

Drake needs to tune in with whoever he had for NWTS. The production and lyrics on there were surprisingly good. Pound Cake :pimp:

I remember when wayne was my fav. I was young. Then 3k came through in 07 with those feauture verses run and i woke up

Joe Budden was not the intended target of Drake’s verse on “No Shopping,” French Montana said in an interview with MTV News.

While getting a shape-up in front of a green-screen backdrop, French claimed that Drizzy’s lyrics weren’t aimed at Joe Budden, who has now dropped three diss tracks for the VIEWS rapper.

“I don’t have nothing to do with that one,” he says in response to the interviewer bringing up the possibility. He then explains that Budden didn’t inspire the verse. “I don’t think we did that record thinking about Joe Budden. It’s not ‘I don’t think’ — I know that for a fact.”

That means the “Pump It Up” reference, the “You’re a one-hit wonder, they know all my ****” dig and the “You let me turn into the ***** that you almost was” are all either coincidence or meant for someone else.

Regardless of what was intended, Joe Budden (and most of the rest of the world) certainly thought the sneaker fit, retaliating with his “Afraid” diss track hours after “No Shopping” dropped.

If you’re still behind on how this whole thing started: Budden said Drake sounded “uninspired” on VIEWS, then French previewed a clip of Drake’s “No Shopping” verse that seemed to reference Budden, then Budden dropped some diss tracks, while still saying he’s a fan of Drake’s and his actions are in line with the competitive spirit of Hip Hop.

You can make the argument that TI has made better music than Wayne. I may or may not disagree.

But better rapper? No.

I've never in my life rewinded a TI song back to hear a line that was crazy. For every corny line Wayne in his prime...he had double the amount of dope ones.

Again...if you were a fan of that post 2000 east coast punchline heavy era rap...I'm not sure how you can say Wayne couldn't rap. He was the exact same thing.

This is same thing ya'll accuse Pusha T of.

He OBVIOUSLY was talking about Joe Budden. The pump it up reference isn't a coincidence.

I don't think he can rap any better than those late 90s-early 2000s Lyricist Lounge type ******. I said that I admit he could rap from a technical standpoint.

But there was nothing special about him at all for ppl to actually consider him one of the greatest ever. His body of work is piss poor and aged horribly.

When's the last time one of ya'll through on one of those early Eminem albums?

He can rap very well.

But you add Dre's vision and the marketing for the character he was at the time + the shock value of it all and the perfect storm of him coming out in that rebellious MTV generation and you have the commercial juggernaut he was.

Also I think you know who his main demographic is .

This is your proof that Wayne is still good?

Right, because "Grown women" don't come in all shapes and sizes.

Again, if y'all think she looks like a child then that's on you.

Whatever you wanna think b, my girl looks young as well but nothing close to that.

She legally an adult though so to each his own but I'm good.
