🦉The Official Drake Thread6️⃣ - Scary Hours 3 11.17.23

a lot of mixed reviews on this.. one thing i can say is that i pretty much never listen to TML anymore (used to play the hell out of Light Up, Fancy, etc).. seeing as i still bump SFG on the reg, i 100% know i'll still be listening to this in a year.

DJ Screw x ESG - Sailin Da South

Definitely my favorite part of that song.

That "HYFY" should have been a Weezy song and Weezy's track, "She Will" should have been on this album instead. The got the songs backwards to me.

Preach. I've probably played the song around 50 times in the past 3 days. Lord Knows is a banger too (anyone know where I can find a "final" clean cut of the instrumental? Been listening to the YouTube ones and they were terrible).

Take Care w/ Rihanna is

I wish he had more lines on Crew Love. That beat went into waste.

but despite all this , I love the album.

^not that reagee island BS

c/s bout what dudes above said underground kings. songs bangs.

dont know why free spirit wasnt on the album..song coulda been a waaay bigger hit than headlines

the hook alone is infectious and ross easily killed his feature

I feel like he did as much as he could do but frankly when it comes down to it, Drake strength isn't rapping, it's songwriting and taste.
That beat was made for +#!@+! who can just rap like Push, Kendrick, Jay, Nas, even Fab on a good day.

I think Ross killed him. I dont feel as though Drake started killing it til around  the "going trigger happy" line, which was towards the end
Where I think just the first two bars sealed the deal to a great verse from Ross
Drake spit about 57-58 bars while Ross spit a 16
Ross' verse hit hard no matter hard you look at it

Ive been really enjoying this album.
I feel its better than Thank Me Later.

Like someone said, It had a more So Far Gone feel to it than Thank Me Later did.

And thats a major plus for me.. So Far Gone is probably one of my favorite mixtapes ever. Part of it is because ive had a lot of meaningfu moments happen to me while all i did was bump that tape..

Anyways, Take Care is

.. Some songs i can do without but its all good. Im trying to squeeze in Hate Sleeping Alone & The Ride into a CD along with the majority of the tape...

I took off HYFR & The Motto off but its still exceeding the time limit for a CD

Totally agree with this, great point.
To me if She Will was on this album and a couple of meh tracks were cut, this could have been a fantastic 12-13 song album. As it was released it's a 7 or so out of 10 at best to me, and I love Drake.

I wish Crew Love had 1 more Drake verse so bad, it feels incomplete

also one of my other favorite songs is Doing it Wrong and I wish it didn't end so abruptly...I can listen to that Stevie Wonder harmonica playing (I assume it's a harmonica) all day

Aight after taken Practice, that sh!# with Nicki and that sh!# with Rihanna off and puttin Free Spirit, DMCB and Trust Issues on it flows a lot better and its right there with Thank Me Later.

I didn't like it at first.. now I think I'm understanding the direction a little bit more. This +$%% is fire front to back, potential classic.

Hate Sleeping Alone is some of the realest ever.

The album has really grown on me over the past week or so. I can listen to every song besides the Nikki Minaj track- but I haven't really listened to that one much yet.
I also think this is better than "Thank Me Later" overall. It's still too early to make that conclusion (and it's all opinion, anyway) but I just feel this album is more of Drake at what he does best.

"Practice" has grown on me quite a bit.
