John Wall is now officially a member of the Washington Wizards and also the newest pitchman and face for Reebok basketball. Signing a multi-year, multi-million dollar endorsement deal before playing his first NBA game, this 6′4 guard from Raleigh, N.C. accomplished what most hoops and sneaker fanatics can only dream. John Wall took time with CounterKicks away from his busy 2010 NBA Draft week schedule to share a couple tidbits about the brand new Reebok ZigTech Slash, his next signature shoe model, and his new Reebok family. CounterKicks: What made you choose Reebok?

John Wall: I chose Reebok because it feels like family. They believed in my potential way back when I was just trying to make a name for myself. The fact that I’ll be the face of the Zig basketball shoe makes it even sweeter.

CK: What were your favorite basketball sneakers growing up?

Wall: I was a huge fan of the Questions.

CK: What was it about the design of the Zig Slash that you liked?

Wall: I liked the bottom a lot because it makes you stand out on the court and they’re really comfortable. It’s the zig bottom that makes the difference. It’s comfortable and it gives you more energy so you can train and play longer. They look cool too.

CK: How does it compliment your style of play?

Wall: It fits me perfect. It gives me support and cushion when I go vertical, great stability when I move laterally and they’re light so I feel faster.

CK: Have you met with the Reebok designers yet on creating your first signature shoe?

Wall: Yes, it’s already in the works. Working on and designing your shoe is every kid’s dream.

CK: Reebok basketball really hasn’t had a face since Allen Iverson was in his prime, how does it feel knowing that you’ll be filling those shoes?

Wall: It’s a huge honor and I just thank God for just having this opportunity.

CK: What do you think you can contribute to an NBA team?

Wall: Any team I go to will get an extremely hard worker, someone who never wants to take a day off, loves to play the game and is dedicated to winning.

CK: How do you deal with the pressure of entering the league with all of this attention surrounding you?

Wall: I just stay humble and hungry and keep in mind that I’m fortunate to be in this position.

For the amount of money he got.. i'd sign with reebok too.
He's sorta doing what D-Wade did back in his rookie year.. gotta respect that
