Nike Shox VC V slightly modded, you like them?

I got these on ebay a few months ago, I cut the over the tongue strap because I like my shoes to be loose and the strap kept them tight even when unlaced.

Looks like your heel is a good inch or more from the back of the shoe. They don't look any better or worse to me, but that strap was the reason they were hard to put on and not worth buying when they hit outlets.

Not a fan of that look... I felt the strap over the laces was a great part of the VC V's (looks wise & performance wise).
