*Official* Casino Gambling thread

Nice to see other NLHE players on NT. Tryna turn this into a "side hustle" recently moved up from $1/2 to 2/5. Been playing house games since the casino is 1h 30m from my house.
Where you play at Charlestown?
i've been playing 2/5 lately at CT. But go back to 1/2 when it gets too big.
what are the games like over there? Is the competition soft...how often do they run?

I read they have sit n gos', have you played in those?

I'm going to New Orleans next weekend and I am planning to hit Harrahs. This will be my first time at a casino so I'm gonna be paying attention to this thread

sumrndmdude,

Charlestown (I call it CT) doesn't have sit n go's they have tourneys that run pretty much through out the week and one on Saturday. Min buy in I believe is $150 and Saturday is $400. I could be wrong cause I don't play in them (never have) but i've seen it here and there. For tourney's I got to Delaware Park since it's suppose to be better. Overall i'd say CT is pretty soft depending on your game. But poker is poker so your AA KK and QQ's can still get cracked too. Patience is key  had to learn that the hard way a few times. Once you get a feel for the table you'll know where you stand.

2/5 is just an expensive 1/2 up there. If you can weather the storm you can walk away with nice amount even if you only buy in for $300 ($500 is the max). It gets pretty crazy at times but that adds to the fun. Don't show your cards and always make the other person show you if they have to.

btw, for those of you who frequent Vegas a lot AND gamble... i hope you signed up for hotel player's cards. You can only benefit doing so. It only takes 5 minutes outta your entire weekend to sign up. You won't regret it.

And it's NOT just for Vegas, usually most casinos will offer a Rewards Card. I see a few of you who frequent Atlantic City or wherever it is you guys end up playing. Sign up for that card.

Especially for those of you who like the slots, this will be MAD beneficial for you. Slot players usually get the best comps. not to say that if you play card games you won't... you just need to be betting high to get points. I know some casinos offer free food after playing a few hours. How can you pass on free food?

I've been beasting at the casino for the past two weeks........ Last trip i was up 400 on roulette and lost it all trying to win big :smh:. wound up losing a 100$ one of the worse feelings in my life.

went back the next day put myself in a 80$ hole early and luckily i left with 175 so the hit from the other day wasnt that bad.

Playing on the hot #'s really seemed to work for me

got hit for 80 on saturday. Not too bad but ihad to force myself to stop b4 it turned into more.

It real easy to turn this into an addiction if i wasn't such a stingy bastard who feels the burn from losing money i would frequent more lol

lol ive had plenty of nights where i bought thousand dollar burgers.

I got up 600 my first night in Biloxi by buying 100$ worth of nickels and playing inside numbers on roulette.  However i later lost it all and then some.

This ftw. Even the Indian casinos down in SD, theyre pretty big time (but a pain in the *** to get to :smh:) but they have the players card deals for sure, especially food. Free buffet for signing up, buffet discount if you're a member at any level, and I know harrahs sends my pops (and me, but he's 368487373x the roller I am) the food credit and free play coupons. Come home with 30 bucks worth of takeout for free :pimp:

So i'm going to visit my parents in dallas. They're about an hour drive from a casino in Oklahoma.

Weirdest thing though, the casino uses cards instead of dice in craps, and there is also no ball in roulette. It's like wheel of fortune-esque with cards in slots so you cant see what they are.

It was such a shock from what I was used to, but I ended up leaving up $500, so i'm hoping for the same luck

Haha yeah the Indian casinos here got the card craps too. I think it's stupid and not the same (game of chance laws FTL), but it scratches the itch . But when the dice hit and you look at the corresponding cards and do the math and it's 7...the delay and then the disappointment :smh: :frown:

went to harrahs in chester on Wednesday. I sat down on one BlackJack table and went in with 100$ was going up and down, I finally caught on to a nice streak and left the table with 300 so a 200$ comeup. I relaxed alittle grabbed a few drinks and decided i wanted to continue playing. I go to a different table this time and only go in with 60$ it was a 10$ table, so im playing 20$ hands and im over here still winning hands also so was the table. There was only 3 of us at the table but the guy sitting in the middle decided to take a smoke break, So im like well why break up the cards we were just on a nice streak so im like **** it and start playing 2 hands at 25$ a piece. No ******** i sat at that table with 60$ within 20-25 Mins i left that table with 400$ up 340$. So just from that night i winded up taking the casino for 540. I was sooo happy

$540+ is a good quick session :pimp:

Roulette is seriously my weakness man. When I'm drunk there's no stopping me from putting what's in my wallet on that table. I usually am a quick hitter just 50/50 or outside numbers guy. I rarely am sitting long enough to play numbers like a normal person should.
