Are Sneakerheads Snobs?

Haha naw, but I'll talk about shoes, but I do "discriminate" on what the guy is wearing at times. And plus, my girl hates it when I have her waiting while holding the bags and She 'specially HAAAATES it when it's a female asking me questions! She's like " That b*tch doesn't know what she's talking about". haha she cracks me up. But yeah, Its A GOOD way to get connects. Lil convos will get you employee appreciation discounts!
 
Most "Heads" are snobs...don't believe me, go to AVS forums or guntalk.com. THe internet has created a haven for thousands of so called experts that are snobby and self righteous.

I consider myself a ballplayer first, one who would not have a need for Kicks if I were not playing ball. I'd probably be running around in a pair of Vintage Stan Smiths, Rod Lavers or Chuck Ox's if I weren't playing. I love sneaks, but I am no "snob" about it. I don't see the necessity in knowing who designed what and then for whom, then when it was put out. TMI, IMO, OD.

Some of the stuff I see kids get crazy about, I just don't get it! Then maybe, I just am not supposed to. For me, if it doesn't do what it is supposed to do on court, it seems like a serious waste of money. Who needs a pair a shoes just to walk around in, in order to get some kind of recognition? I guess that if you get into being a "sneakerhead", at least do it for yourself, not just for gaining attention and accolades from others. Seems pretty pretentious as well..

I'm more of a LEISURE type of a sneakerhead. I only buy sneakers that I like and is worth the collection. I just started two years ago and who knew I would end up with a decent collection.
Back in the day around late 90's in my hometown in Philippines, I couldn't afford any sneakers because they're really expensive there.
I only get sneakers whenever my older cousins and uncles and grandparents from abroad send me sneakers. I remember getting a pair of Jordan 10 in White/Black colorway. I used those to play ball.
I can't believe I didn't bring that here even if it won't fit me anymore. Right now I have 14 pairs mostly with Nikes and Jordans.
I don't know a lot about sneakers (yet), but I do know what looks good to me.
