A 31-woman-year old woman who posed as an East Texas high school student is getting a different kind of education – behind bars.
Charity Anne Johnson enrolled at New Life Christian School in Longview, Texas, as a 15-year-old sophomore under the false name “Charity Stevens.”
She was arrested Sunday night at an apartment after trying to give cops a fake name and birthday, Longview police told KLTV.
Like a far grimmer version of “Never Been Kissed,” in which Drew Barrymore’s adult character poses as a high school student, Johnson enrolled at the high school with a guardian, offering a birth date that would make her 15, a New Life spokesperson told KLTV.
She then started attending classes in October 2013. On Tuesday, staff finally realized her identification was fake and it had all been a ruse.
Tamica Lincoln took Johnson in after hearing her convincing sob story.
“I sympathized with her, and invited her into my home. I took her in as a child, did her hair, got her clothes and shoes…” she told KLTV.
Johnson reeled Lincoln in by telling her that she had been abused by her deceased father and mother. From then on, Lincoln essentially became her guardian, fulfilling parental duties like meeting with her 10th grade teachers.
But Lincoln and Paul Ward ultimately started to doubt Johnson’s story and alerted the cops and school.
“Teachers were crying and students were crying, and her best friend just couldn’t believe it,” Lincoln said.
New Life Christian School says students will go home with a notice explaining what happened on Thursday. Meanwhile, Lincoln has reached out to people on Facebook who Johnson once contacted – but no one wants anything to do with her.
“They tell us that they hope she has time in jail to think about the pain she caused with her lies,” Lincoln said.
Cops arrested Johnson for failure to identify. She’s now being held at Gregg County Jail on $500 Bond

I really dont see anything wrong with it, and all of those people sure look happy.

I used to think LeBron would finally start to get props for being a great player after he won a championship.
But even after back to back championships and after all the excuses people used to make up, to not give him credit, have run out, people still cant seem to give credit where it is due.

Its like I HATE the Spurs. I HATE them. But at the same time Im not gonna come in here and be like Tim Duncan is trash and has always been trash.
Duncan deserves respect because he earned it.

Its kinda sad really.

I asked you a simple very simple question. He cant be happy that he won a tough game?

You act like him and the whole team dove on the half court circle, and celebrated for 20 mins.

The second part was just a factual general thought, that wasnt directed towards you. But somehow you got caught in your feels. :frown:

Maybe next time, he will call you up and get your approval on what an appropriate celebration looks like. Would that be better for you?
