 The bald interviewer dude is trying to make them look as good as possible by making the viewers understand how they got like that: He's like "What other choices do you have to live a straight law-abiding life, right?" And the gang dude is like "Oh, there are a ton of choices." He just became a drug dealing gang member because he felt like it.
