So the World Basketball Festival is going down soon, and I plan to go to MSG and watch a few games.. So I figured, lemmie cop a Kevin Durant jersey to represent. So I go to the Foot Locker on 34th st in Manhattan... No luck, only Kobe, James, Paul and I think Anthony... No KD, who's actually gonna play in the WBF.
I head to Niketown the next day (yesterday), Same stock.

Now, How can NIKE make a huge mistake like this... BANKING on their star athletes, when none of them are playing, yet exclude the face of the USA team in Kevin Durant??

NO KD JERSEY, NIKE?? Shame on YOU.

Who's going to buy a Kevin Durant jersey though? The casual basketball viewer doesn't know who Kevin Durant is. It makes no sense for Nike to invest a couple hundred thousand or more in pushing Durant products during an International event such as this one. They need to push their biggest stars so that they can get a return on their investment.

So, selling Jerseys of players, that aren't even participating? And since when is the "casual Basketball viewer" NIKE's core consumer?? I mean I'm sure they made them like last year sometime, but to pass on Durant? FAIL.

Wow, anyone who "watches" basketball and doesn't know who Kevin Durant is needs to stop watching.

It's easy to buy a LeBron James jersey and not even follow the league and say he's your favourite player, but if you're a fan of the sport. You should know who Kevin Durant is.

The casual fan knows who he is but the don't follow his career or buy his shoes etc the same way they the others.

It'll change somewhat if the National Team does well and once the Thunder are on national TV more often.

MOST POPULAR NBA PLAYER JERSEYS

1) Kobe Bryant
2) LeBron James
3) Dwight Howard
4) Derrick Rose
5) Dwyane Wade
6) Kevin Garnett
7) Chris Paul
8 ) Paul Pierce
9) Shaquille O'Neal
10) Pau Gasol
11) Carmelo Anthony
12) Steve Nash
13) David Lee
14) Allen Iverson
15) Kevin Durant

He's the face of National Team USA by default btw

That is absolutely shocking. I sincerely hope that your stats are wrong.
I could care less about big market/small market. KD can play!
