Yeah, they're not good looking shoes. At the time someone in Nike was really determined that Stat's shoes should take some sort of styline cues from what Barkley wore.

In the case of the Air Max2 CB, the overlay look works..... on the Stat 2 it doesn't.

And I am not going to sacrifice my ankles and back to playing 3 to 5 games to break them in. 360 would have been an excellent platform for him!

Yeah, i just find it very hard to believe Lebron played the regular season in that cushioning set up... and if he's willing to put his name to a shoe that isn't representative of the cushioning set up that he's actually playing in, it's a little hard to respect him.

Wouldn't that be more the fault of NIKE versus LeBron?  All LeBron can do is wear the shoes that Nike makes for him. If the shoes they make are giving him trouble, such as the back spasms he was experiencing whilst wearing zoom air, max air had to be the better option.

It's either that, or create an altogether new system for LeBron to play in.

Just grabbed a pair of white/blk Stat 2 off of eBay. I hope they live up to the comfort everyone talks about! I don't mind heavier shoes; I played in the LB IV and loved them (comfy too).

my guess is they abandoned the concept because it was too high up off the ground, which takes away court feel. also, being so high up off the ground decreases lateral stability and increases the chance of rolling your ankle
