I have the OG Droid, best phone I've ever had. The droid 2 looks wack. Droid X looks like a beast tho.

btw, every needs to get the Tasker app. You can pretty much make it do anything. For example I have profiles for;

Home: When I get into range of my wifi network, it sends a WOL packet to my computer waking it up from sleep
Work: When I get into range of work, it sets the phone to vibrate. When I leave the range, it turns vibrate off
Headphones: When headphones are plugged in it auto launches the Music app, sets the media volume to max, and starts playing a playlist and turns the notification volume to 4. When the headphones are taken out it stops playing and quits the music app and sets the media and notification volume back
Maps: When the Maps app is launched it turns on GPS, when its closed it turn GPS off
Last caller widget: When I have to ignore a call when I cant answer for whatever reason, I just tap the widget and it sends a text to the last caller saying I'm busy I'll get back to you in a while
There are literally thousands of things you can do with it and the dev keeps adding new features.

I'm eligible for an upgrade for Sprint in October.  Right now I'm thinking of getting either the Evo 4g (how available are they?) or an Epic 4g.  I have a Palm Pre and I LUV webOS but 2 things I absolutely HATE about this phone is the terrible build quality of the phone, basically made to fall apart, and the atrocious battery life.  I don't wanna be having to buy an expensive phone only to have to replace it with a refurb because it's a piece of $+!%.  I would luv to hear from Evo owners and from Epic owners when it comes out.  I hear the Evo's battery life isn't the best either so I'm curious to hear how the Epic is, and how the other Samsung Galaxy Series S phones are in terms of battery life.  So how is the build quality of these 2 phones?  I've never had an htc, and have heard some complaints, and I've had samsung phones before which gave me few issues and were built pretty well.

Love my new Droid X. 4.3 inch screen with good battery life - took it off the charger 16 hours ago, used about 90 minutes of voice, half an hour of gps and used 3g data throughout the day, it still has about 20% left.

BTW, what are some of the biggest benefits to rooting? I wanted to do more research into it but just don't have the time.
