I couldn't even fathom getting that much screen on time

That would be like the glory days of my Blackberry Bold's battery life  I remember I was literally on Twitter and NT for 8 straight hours and answering texts during the draft or something like that, and I still had like 20% at the end of the night

I think I might switch the g3 for the m8. I probably got use to sense
This.

Ive had this phone for a day and a half and my main gripe is LG UI, whatever they call it, I can't deal. I'm just soo use to Sense, especially Sense 6.0 which is damn near perfect blend of Vanilla and Sense. LG UI seems outdated in a lot of area and doesn't even lock in much of Sense.

Just the little things that HTC does like, if you share a lot, it will put the top share apps upfront so you dont have to scroll down. I know that's minor to some, but HTC did that right.

Also the notification toggles in Sense 6.0 is straight from Vanilla (boxes and your pic in the far left), LG G3 pull down notification toggles is some circle up top ******** you swipe left and right. I hate it.

HTC hides away the AT&T carrier logo after 5 secs, LG keeps it there. Recent apps is too bulky and clutter, list ALL your recent apps, while HTC auto closes anything over 9 apps.

I can go on but, yall get the point. I thought about running Sense 6.0 launcher on this too but I don't feel like unlocking it, prob just take it back and hold on to my M7 til the i6 drops.

If anyone is interested in trying a new SMS app peep QKSMS. Currently in alpha but check their Google+ page and you can become a tester.

I think it's time we recognize that the brilliance of the Android Suite of products (which includes the OS and the various OEMs) is that there is CHOICE!!

The OEMs have their flagship smartphones and Google chooses an OEM for their Nexus products. There are a variety of flavors which appeal to different people for different reasons...again that's the beauty of Android. You get to pick from a choice of UI or you can go for Vanilla...you can root, develop, and create, or you can just leave as is.

NOBODY is better than the next man for any of the choices made. At least we have choices, which is something I couldn't say when I owned iPhones. Let's stop the flaming and bickering from within.

QKSMS looks dope Nawz..

well with a lot of complaints I'm seeing about the G3 I think I may just hold off.. kind of disappointing, the "prime" versions of the M8 and S5 are dropping soon, I don't eem know if I want those cause the prime of those primes will drop after that.. I think I'm just going to wait for the i6.

I ended up copping the G3. Battery life has been excellent so far. 7.5 hrs of SOT is nuts. Most I got with the G3 is 4. Camera is a nice upgrade over the Nexus 5. Not sure if i'm going to keep it though. I kinda miss Vanilla Android and the bootloader is still locked as of now. Got over a week to make my decision so we will see.

It's a great phone. If you are on the fence I say test it out. It is a big phone but it really doesn't feel that big because it's lightweight and the bezels are extremely tiny.

Played with the G3 at BB, while built quality + display was impressive, it didn't seem as snappy as my Nexus 5, also the skin was kinda ugly ...I guess i'm hold on to my Nexus 5 until the next big thing happens ... (shrug)

Hopefully in the future I can catch a G3 on craigslist for the low low... Throw a AOSP ROM on there and your good money :smokin

What are you guys doing with your old phones after you upgrade? Selling them, keeping them or destroying them?

Since I switched to ART yesterday my phone has been running a lot hotter.

My phone usually around 25-30 Celsius, since ART it hasnt been below 32 lol, nexus 5 black plate super warm. (got one of those battery life/temp apps)

You're a good man Carver.

It's official I'm waiting for the official announcement of the Galaxy Alpha (Galaxy S5 Prime) which is expected to be in August.

Usually keep them as backup devices.. usually give them to someone who desperately needs one.

I was watching the news a few days ago and this segment came up where AVAST was able to retrieve old text messages, pictures, phone numbers and data from phones that had used the restore to factory settings option. Found it interesting that's why I asked what people in here are doing with their old devices.

I'm looking into how I can actually wipe the entire memory contents of the phone now but haven't come across a secure method.

I thought the S5 Prime was only going to be a korean launch? I guess i was wrong, I want to upgrade to the G3 but now I guess I should wait....longer. :frown:

Is there a way to mirror videos on a g3 without chromecast?

I use to mirror movies to my Xbox one all the time on my s4 and it'll be very disappointing if the g3 can't do that

Yanky, the word is it's supposed to launch in the US to counter the iPhone 6 and supposedly in August. A 4.7 inch QHD display and a metal body is what it's more than likely going to be.

Yea its just like a computer harddrive. when you delete data off a harddrive it doesnt really delete, it just tells the OS system like ok this space is now free to write on..... when its written on then you wont be able to retrive the data but before then anybody can.

With that being phone is the same way and what i do is use a app that securely erases the hard drive and or phone by overwritting the free space with data so that the old data is not retriveable then I can sell my phone, but 99% of people arent going to try to retrive you old data when they buy your phone

same thing with my computer.

Well I guess I won't be looking to upgrade to that since it's only a 4.7 inch screen.

The Note 4 will be the premium device with all that metal and a larger screen. They are directly targeting the iPhone 6 with the 4.7 The battle has switched from long range shooting to bayonets being attached
