Pulled the trigger on black G3 today for $99 at Best Buy and my brother got the Gold one. I love the phone, coming from two years on S3 and being on Samsung since the first Galaxy.
Screen is gorgeous and the fake metal paint feels very high quality lol. Overall first impressions are great.

Don't mind the stock homescreens this is literally me first using the phone (i cleaned her up now)

That live wallpaper might drain your battery quicker. G3 is dope, I love mine. :smokin

He got EIGHT HOURS of OST. I mean the phone is slow, but OH MY GOD.
What kind of specs does it have though?

I mean I could go a month with my RAZR fliphone without charging but that doesnt mean I'll use it over the N5

one stupid question

i rooted  with stump root

when the time comes to update the android firmware on the g3 (to L i'm imagining) do i have to reflash it to stock, update and then unroot again or will i be able to update the regular, easy way?

So after almost a year of not wanting to power on, my S3 decides to magically start working again. Something fishy going on with Samsung... :smh:

Paying close attention to see if my Note 3 randomly stops working around Xmas time or so...

people say they screw up a percentage of the phones on purpose with a rouge update to make the people upgrade

Apple does it with their computers I have seen rather it is on purpose or not I noticed it always a rouge update before a new item comeout

My Note 3 was flawless until Kit Kat

Now it's a laggy battery draining mess.

Brought me back to HTC though

Good question.

I am not positive but I am pretty sure that you will have to either unroot and update. Or flash the update yourself. (I prefer method 2)

With some devices/updates you are able to keep root. It's a case by case deal.

thanks for some insight. i don't think i would've rooted if i knew i had to unroot to upgrade the firmware

not sure i can do that with a mac, but hopefully someone comes out with some easy workaround

Can I get some assistance with my Nexus 7 2nd gen?

The screen and digitalizer are broken. I've been googling screen replacements and I'm seeing different kinds as well as prices ranging from $20-$90. Anyone know of an official site?

I would take it to my local shops but they're charging $100 and I would have to leave it with them for a few days. I have too much on here that I don't want strangers to see. I'd rather get the screen and digitalizer and get it back within that hour.

PM me when the time comes. I'll look into it for you and tell ya the easiest way.

And honestly you probably will be able to just flash it to your system which is really easy.

The root exploit that they found seems to be one across all LG devices and they way they talk about it leads me to believe that it's something LG can't patch.

I cracked the inside of mine like 5 months ago and sent it into Asus anyways just to see what would happen and they emailed me first saying it was 125 then I emailed them back saying just send it back to me not fixed because I'm not paying that much and they emailed me back saying there gonna fix it for free as a courtesy. Took about 3 weeks tho really long process. It looks hard to fix it by yourself unless you really know what your doing.

Yea, I was going to try one of those YouTube tutorials but I don't wanna cause more damage. I'll try Asus out. Thanks for the info.

Tets info on that 2nd screenshot, icons?

:nerd: :nerd:

I lost my USB cable for my tablet... As a replacement do I need to get a specific one?

I still have the original wall charger

You won't be able to update OTA. I'm sure there will be a ROM with the new firmware anyway so just flash that.
