BTW ive been using Textra for like a week and i feel like it is starting to really do a number on my battery life. Anyone else getting this?

I feel the same way. I take my phone out of my pocket and my phone is hot sometimes because when I get it a text it sometimes stays on with the textra notification at the top. I went back to regular messages

im about to do the same. According to Clean Master it is Textra sucking all my battery and also making the phone hot.  Sucks because i was enjoying the speed of textra.

Any other messaging apps with quick reply feature like Textra uses?

i go on like 2 webcam sites daily whether im at work or just out chillin... and its just convenient to have on my phone vs being on my computer when i could just have that pr0n on the go... this is why i dont see the hype on the iphone... but if you ask me in person why i got an android and not an iphone im not going to keep it real and say that

i got a pretty stupid question that i think i know the answer to, but would just like to confirm

if i have sms disabled in hangouts can i still use the hangouts app to chat with other people without incurring any texting charges?

my text plan with at&t is on a per text basis (think like $.020 per text) so i use google voice and whatsapp to handle texting (via data).

i would like to also use hangouts to chat with other people on my google contacts list, but don't want to give at&t any more $$$

If you're using hangouts as sms they'll charge you. If you're using hangouts to message from your Google account to another person's google account than no, it wouldn't charge you. However, it does use data tho.

Make sure you disable hangouts as sms so you don't confuse yourself.

right, cool. that's what i thought. i do have sms disabled in hangouts. i just got confused because when i type up a contact in hangouts their phone number appears giving me the impression that the message would go through as an sms text rather than a chat type of message

I would honestly cop the Moto X if it had a microSD slot. Seems like Motorola is on the right track: almost stock Android, front facing speakers, perfect screen size, and decent specs.
