Honestly no reason to back up before root....

Also you can't really us TB until you root.

Any questions feel free to PM

That's kinda what I figured from reading older threads about phones in the past that had locked bootloaders like the G3 when they first came out but I wasn't sure. Thanks for the info.

I want to root my G3 tonight with Stumproot. The instructions are simple enough.

What I'm wondering is what should I do/consider before I root? I read that it's best to make a back up. Titanium Backup requires that you already be rooted; what's the best app to use?

Not necessary. I rooted with stump root then used twrp for a recovery and used that as a backup. Imo using a nandroid back up is good

Everything in your phone gets backed up. I find it better than titanium.

When i was using the sky dragon rom it was a little buggy. So i restored by back up and everything was there. Appz, settings all that

Don't forget about Youtube ad-away. Definitely in the top 10

Check out chromepie

Convenient so you don't have to always scroll up

Nope it only takes away the commercials that play before the video begins. The suggestions are still at the bottom before the comments.

MAD! cheers man, repped. Also I wanna start using chrome but I found it ate my battery vs the stock browser, you guys find this too?

I haven't ran into that problem. I've had chrome installed on my G3 since the day I got it and haven't had any issues with it eating up my battery. I use chrome because it loads the pages faster than the stock browser and has easier controls for me to get to. Everyone has a different experience though.

I don't like to have too much clutter, I have more icons on the second screen and only a calendar on the 3rd. Took the simple approach that LG also took when designing the G3 lol

Yeh That's clean! What icon pack is that? Tempted myself but id love a HD icon pack

You can find the free apk by searching on google. You'll need a third party launcher, (nova, apex, buzz) to install the icon pack. There's a ton of icons out there just see what you like from the playstore.

Guys, thought I'd share this with y'all even though some of y'all already know this...

If you are in a environment like a huge school campus, or business park and walking around and it has wifi your battery can die quickly. I walk almost a mile from where I park on campus to my classes and I pass by many building all of which have our campus network. With my Wifi on it stops and searches every time I pass by a building...I'm talking losing upwards to 25-30% in less than 20 minutes. Best thing to do is to remember to turn off your wifi radio until you are stationary.

This.... Also when your in a building or place that struggles for service will kill your battery. Those places where your phone goes to no signal then to 1-2 bars back and forth kills the battery

I use tasker to disconnect the WiFi when I leave home and reconnect when I'm back home automatically

You don't want to leave WiFi on because it will connect to any open network unless you change the setting. That means people and hackers and pull your information suck as bank info etc

But aint you just draining youre battery with having location services on to determine when youre home and not home though? Or does taster locate via 4g?

if you're discussing installing icons just click on the icon pack you downloaded. it should be in your apps and/or home page. it should then prompt you to choose a launcher that you want to install it with (which is nova in your case)

Thanks mate. And too change back to default if I don't like the icons?

you could go into nova settings (click the nova settings button in your apps drawer) - then click look and feel - then icon theme - select your icon theme among the list

More info on how to do that with tasker por favor. I've never used tasker before.

Edit: Chrome pie doesn't seem to be working for me. refreshed chrome and everything.

no. Because it onlys comes on when needed (location) and also it is not constantly checking. I can have it poll every 30 minutes or your or whatever
