android=public school, more freedom/individuality, less uniformity
iphone=private school, rigid procedures, yet deemed high-class and more refined. costs more.

you have people that only believe in one, and you have people that see the benefits in both.

Repped for one of the greatest analogies I've seen regarding the topic.

i dont mind touchwiz or the launcher since i dont put too much stuff on the desktop

its all the bloat software it comes with that i cant uninstall unless rooted and id ont want to trip knox.

even with all the bloat, the s5 runs smooth on touchwiz

Funny thing is the dude that made those bend videos is totally pro-iPhone.  He wanted the note to fail so bad

Just got a Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 off Slick deals.
You like it? I've been trying to decide between one of an iPad.

I like it a lot, got it for a good price. Only complaints I'd have are about Touch wiz. I'm gonna root it and get rid of the massive amount of bloatware this thing is loaded with. Screen is amazing though.

If price isn't an issue for you I'd get an iPad. I'd also recommend if you choose to get the Galaxy Tab to get the 10 inch, the 8.4 is too small

5 days till Zero Lemon brings out the LG G3 battery, counting down the days! My batterys been getting me through till about 8pm at night but itl be good for weekends, when I thrash the **** outta my phone.

Is there any icon packs you can get that just change the icons but don't require you to have a launcher app such as Nova Launcher?

There is an app called beautiful icon styler that let's you change the desktop icons on stock launchers, but it doesn't change Tue app drawer. Also It has a trial, then I think it isb$2

Only thing the iPhone does well is the camera. That's it nothing else it does is comparable to its flagship android counterparts

Ummmm iPhones are consistently more fluid, with the exception of the HTC, every other android seems to act wacky every now and then and it seems to get worst with time. Let's see if android L can iron out those random kinks that "project butter" was suppose to get rid of.

To the guy who asked about his DODGE CHARGER USB cable.

Just go iphone 6. If that is the deciding factor you probably won't use nearly anything that android has to offer.

No shots. youll probably be happier. My parents, god bless them asked ME(the tech guy) what they should get, I said iphone.

Its just simpler and for a lot of people thats good.

Yea tell that to my girls 5s when it lags force closes dosent load apps up and dies seriously within 4 hours even with very normal use.

iOS 7 was the most unstable mobile OS last year and iOS 8 is destroying those numbers right now its basically a unusable buggy POS. Don't give me that fluidity crap. Again the only W you guys have is the awesome camera. That's it

I have the 4s with ios7 since day one and it only force closed on me around 5 or 6 times. It has been stuttering on ios8 every now and then but, no where as often as my bros S5. Yes, the S5 is snappier on most occasions but, it has this slight pause like every 20 to 25 moves, annoys the hell out of me.

The only phone that I've tried from android that felt consistently smooth is the HTC One, Moto X, and the Nexus 5 from what I can remember. Even the G2 had these quirky moments where it would bug out for like 5 swipes.

Like I said in here before, my Note 3 is still as fluid as it was about 11 months ago. Main reason why I'm probably not upgrading to the 4. Was thinking about selling it to upgrade but don't feel like having to reinstall everything...lol

Note 3 camera is pretty good too.

I had a 5 for three months and it had force close issues every day. I sold it and grabbed an HTC one m7, best phone I have had to date

This.

Snapped some pics earlier before it got dark, and it's not even close, the iPhone 6 camera is so damn fluid. It's smooth, accurate colors, focus is incredibly fast and spot on. I know the M8 is slightly above avg. in the camera dept. but the iPhone makes it look like a toy. My M8 was refocusing every damn second, like it was having a seizure and it kept blowing out the whites, making them look brighter. That's an HTC problem, but you would think they would correct it by now :smh:

I've test every high end Android smartphone camera, The LG G3 was the best camera I used... until the iPhone 6. Apple knows smartphone photography. They just get it.

Video is crisp, clear and smooth. I mean, it shoots natural and once again, it focuses fast and object your shooting so good. The 240fps SLO-MO is a gimmick, but it's dope, I can't front. I tired it out by doing jumping jacks, my girl shot the footage

I do like the look and feel of iOS8, but Android OS / Sense 6 is more modern/natural for me. It just flows better, feature packed and has all the bells and wistles. I'm still struggling around iOS8 to do things I can do easily in Android.

I just wish there was a phone that had Apples camera quality and Android OS, which will NEVER happen :x

Google’s upcoming “Nexus 6″ (some claim it will be called “Nexus X”) has long been rumored, and there have been many leaked specifications and details rolling out for quite some time now. But there hasn’t been much solid information about the device quite yet, leaving many who have passed on the iPhone 6 and OnePlus One hopelessly waiting to know if the wait will be worth it. For those of you who fall into this category, you’re in luck.

We can now corroborate previous rumors that its screen size nudges it out of smartphone territory, and closer to the likes of the recent push for phablet devices. If any smartphone is really a phablet, this is it—shipping with a behemoth screen that’s a massive 5.92-inches diagonally, with the device’s body being just a bit larger than that. 9to5Google has also learned that, as for the overall appearance of the device, it’s basically going to be a scaled up 2nd generation Moto X with some minor tweaks to make the larger size easier to use.

Notably, a report from last month based on specifications leaked via GFXBench seemingly all but confirmed a variety of facts about the device: 5.2-inch 1440p display, a 2.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter and Android L (surprise, surprise). While some of these remain true, a recent device we’re are directly familiar with has shown that only some of this aligns with reality.

The device we’ve learned about is actually going to pack a 5.92-inch screen, as mentioned above, with QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440. This dense screen according to our calculations comes out to be 498 PPI—a fairly impressive number for any smartphone. As such, it’s going to have a battery that is equally impressive, packing 3,200 mAh to power all of those pixels.

As for the camera, it’s actually going to be a 13 MP shooter on the back, and as previously rumored, we can corroborate that it should have the ability to shoot 4K UHD video at launch. As for the front shooter, the device is going to have a 2 MP shooter that is indentical to the one on the 2nd generation Moto X.

It is of our understanding at this point that the device will have a Snapdragon 805 processor as many have suspected and will pack 3 GB of RAM. As far as flash storage goes, we’re directly familiar with at least one device of the 32 GB storage capacity, but other capacities will likely also be available at some point. Interestingly, we’re yet to become aware of a “Shamu” device running 64-bit Android L (which was one of its most important new features), which leads us to question if the final product will take advantage of those performance improvements.

It’s worth noting that, while this device may appear to be a scaled up version of the Moto X, there are some very obvious differences. First, as you can see in our in-house made mock up above (which is based off of a real device), the device is going to have its volume and lock buttons moved down just a bit in comparison to the Moto X, closer to the center of its side. All of the rest of the main device interfaces, such as the mic, headphone jack, and SIM card slot are all located in the same place as the Moto X, proportionally. Also like the new Moto X, the device has a familiar aluminum bezel and a camera that is almost identical in appearance.

Notably, while there isn’t any indication of the Nexus branding on the above depicted device (as we’re hearing this design hasn’t yet been finalized), such branding will almost certainly be on the final model as we’ve seen in the Nexus 4, 5, and others (if this phablet does indeed turn out to be a Nexus). We aren’t quite sure what will come of the “M” inside the small dimple. Finally, as for all of Motorola’s awesome custom software features, it is our understanding that this Nexus device, despite its similarities to Moto’s official lineup, will lack features like Moto Assist and Quick Capture.

All of this said, these details do not rule out that there might actually be more than one Nexus 6/X from Motorola. Devices with screens of 5.2-inches have definitely appeared in benchmark applications, and it’s hard to deny that those must be real prototypes somewhere in the wild. In fact, Apple just released two devices at one time which would make such a move all the more plausible. Also of note is that with specs this great, we have to consider the slim possibility that this ‘Shamu’ might not even be a Nexus at all. But with the right price tag, it could be the best Nexus ever. Everything that we’ve seen points to this being at least one of the next slew of Nexus devices, but I must stress that there’s definitely a possibility that this could just be a phablet that is up and coming in Motorola’s lineup.

Regardless, the device is slated for release in November, with an announcment supposedly aimed to happen at some point in October. As the announcement nears, we’ll be sure to let you know as we learn more.
