Had the Moto 360 for a hot sec when I got my N6. While I can only speak for the 360, I'd say wait on it and scoop a 2nd or 3rd generation smart watch when they arrive. I just don't think the smart watch experience is where it needs to be to justify the pricetag. Not saying it can't get there, but it just wasn't worth $250 for me. I returned it after less than a week in favor of my traditional watches.
N6 or Z3. The Note just isn't compelling enough for the money they want for it IMO.

Picked up the LG G watch for $80 along with a $50 Google Play credit from BB on Black Friday.

I like it for the price but would never spend $200+ for one of these. I do find myself checking it instead of my phone when I wear it, but there's no Wow factor.

Also, when I pair it with my OPO, the phone tends restart once a day or so. Not sure why. Seems like a CM11 on the OPO, maybe Bluetooth, problem for me.

Anyone here messing with a smart watch? Thinking about scooping up the LG G Watch R. Moto 360 is beautiful but I'm not feeling that battery life and that black bar at the bottom of the screen.
I was about to pick the G watch or 360 but just got a Movado from my wife and a Tag from a relative. I'm sure they'll feel insulted if I go with a 250 dollar watch over their gifts as one is like 6k and the other 3k. To think I'll probably be happier ... LoL can't front though the watches I got are really nice .

Scooped the Note 4 Verizon for only $149 from Amazon. My technology suite is a Surface Pro 3, Retina iPad, and Note 4. 3 different platforms all connected to my 1TB OneDrive account, and all have MS Office 365 for 4 years as well as Hangouts. I also have a 1TB super small and slim USB 3.0 external HD that automatically synchs and backups with my Dropbox account. For when I needa more advanced cam than my smartphone I have my Sony a6000 24MP APS-C camera. I carry all of this with me at school everyday in a small REI backpack.

As much as I dislike paying Verizon prices I can't leave them. I travel too much and it works dam near everywhere. Real talk last summer I was in the mountains of Montana and Utah doing field research a nuh still got a 3G signal. Made a bruh feel like I had one of those iridium satellite phones and ish

recently got a upgrade picked up the M8

was gonna get the note 4 but the speakers on that

The speakers on the M8
eek.gif

It should standard on all phones for the speakers to be on the front, don't know why samsung locate their speakers on the back

Tradeoffs.... The Note 4 manages to have a huge screen with relatively small dimensions because they don't have to account for having speakers on the front.

Everybody is different, but I figured I use headphones and an small compact Bluetooth external speaker which is better than any phone speakers for the few times I play my music from my phone out loud.

But if I had to choose between forward facing speakers and the best display and one of the best cameras on the market...I'm choosing the superior display and camera everytime.

Note 4 is a got dammed beast! This is what happens when Samsung decides they want to distance themselves from the market.

And how often do those speakers really come in handy.

Though nice I didn't find a need for them on my M7. I rarely turned the volume up when I watched YouTube vids. And even on phones now I don't wish I could turn the volume up a little more . That's just me tho. I'm sure some have a reason for wanting those.

Agreed Carver. I guess for those which speaker quality is a make or break feature they'd be a little underwhelmed with the Note 4. I'm not going to judge

Below is a quote from a writer/reviewer from the verge.com which is usually somewhat Apple biased. It sums up the Note line impact on the industry. But if we're going to be fair and honest Dell released a huge 5 incher before Samsung did, they just didn't have a smartphone following to make it stick. As one of the early adopters and one of the first NT'ers with a Note (bought it release day in February 2012) I appreciate how the line has matured and changed the "game" as they say...

I can remember how it was to be traveling on the plane just to have someone say "is that a phone?". The original Note goes down in my personal history as the phone most likely for strangers to ask to hold it

I was wrong about big phones.

Actually, a lot of people were wrong about big phones. When Samsung first came out with the Note in 2011, I wasn’t the only one who laughed at the idea of a 5.3-inch smartphone. But I was wrong. The Note sold in the tens of millions, and that lineup has become Samsung’s most premium set of smartphones. Not only did it accelerate Samsung’s run toward smartphone dominance, it spawned a legion of copycats. Even Apple, the company that once so adamantly declared 4 inches to be the perfect size for a cellphone, now makes an iPhone so large it makes you look at your hands a little differently.

I got the m8 and I'll take the note 4 over it right now easily. Not that the m8 is bad its great just the note is better flat out.

The Verge review of the Note 4 is still a POS. Dude complained about the touch sounds that you can TURN OFF. The whole tone of that review vs. the 6+ is totally different. It's like dude was just looking for something negative to say about the phone.

No doubt Foam, I still got the impression that it was a case of his Apple bias, and that deep down inside he still is feeling the 4. A lot of these blogs are held hostage by Apple or at least feel that they are because they feel/know that Apple would cut them off if they were honest.

thry so bias its not even funny. the nexus 9 review had the word ipad in it more than the actual nexus itself

I'm usually #teamraw, but that raised curved screen and metal sides has me a little paranoid of dropping it. I think I may spring for the Spigen Neo Hybrid case. Or

Quick question my nt brethren.

ilost my nexus 5. I have a replacement coming from t mobile. Will my notes still be saved and accessible somehow? Im pretty sure it was somebody in this thread previously that me I would be good if this were to happen. ?.

To be honest, im not sure..

I know my pictures are backed up to google and I, pretty sure I set it up thru google butwhat is google keep? Pardon my android ignorance

brahs,

which is the best program to use to back up your phone? to make a long story short, i will have to get my S4 swapped out for a new one due to a sim card issue. My phone would randomly say, my phone cannot read the sim card and it would just reset. It's been happening since 2 days ago and it's getting annoying.

Any suggestions will help. Thanks

I would only take the note 4 because of the screen size, others same dang phones basically and power

M8 is a great phone in its own right, but at this point there's no way I'd choose it over the the Note 4 or Nexus 6, or heck even the iPhone 6 Plus.

people that have the m8 love it, but i don't get the appeal. seems like just another regular phone if you ask me. same with the moto x and iphones.

Interesting fact about the Note 4 display. Many people question having QHD screens because it's perceived that it would have a negative effect on battery life. With the Note 4 Samsung was able to create a screen with double the resolution of the Note 3, with greater brightness yet it's 14% more efficient than the Note 3's screen. That's crazy.

And that's exactly why the Note 4s battery life poops on all it's qhd counterparts especially the Nexus 6. Screen tech and software optimization has done wonders for this phones battery life
