The m9 didn't deliver as good as it should have when it released. Redemption maybe? Im on the same boat as you are in terms of Apple. Getting bored of my OPO but I'm not sure if apple can tame my taste lol

Definitely redemption, HTC has been slipping behind the competition the last few years despite making phone that are on par or better...
They just don't have the marketing power like Samsung and Apple. Seems like that's all the mainstream consumers know.
I'm not sure if Apple can hold me either, but I feel like they're gonna come hard with the 7. They know android manufacturer's are at their neck trying to out innovate them

That's true. They do take a fresh approach to reach to consumers but nothing ground breaking. I do like their uh oh program. Seems convenient but why bother getting a phone that won't perform. From what I heard an update rolled out when the phone came out to better the camera quality. It was okay but not enough. Haven't heard from HTC since lol.
This is true lol. The new iphones look great but the OS kills me inside. Id have to use them now to see if its convenient to get. How do you like yours?

I got 6s plus....won't get here until Friday...
HTC event is being held on the 29th so if I don't like it I'll send it back and see what HTC is cooking with

You couldn't tell me nothing wrong about HTC when I copped my first smartphone. Had the T-Mobile wing and loved it, moved to the Touch Pro 2, then the G2. I love the build but the software was never all the way there and the updates took forever. I think the M9 would've gotten more fanfare w/ a larger screen w/ better graphics.
Oh, and I'm still focused on the Moto X Pure, this years Nexus phones just don't do it for me.

i actually like the size 5.0... i dont like that smart phones are getting bigger its like starting to have bricks = zach morris phone... the m9 would of been better if the camera was on par with samsung and i agree screen could of been better but still not bad as it is...

That M10 is going to be make-or-break for HTC. They have the software, and they have the hardware (besides the camera), but they HAVE to update their design. They fell flat by not making the M9 a big enough upgrade to the 8. The 8 was great so I see why they didn't feel the need, but they aren't in the same position as Samsung and Apple where they can just do small updates and expect people to buy regardless. Plus they didn't fix the ONE complaint most had about the phone (Camera). Too many failed experiments (ultrapixel, 21mp). They need to cop a proven Sony or Samsung sensor like everyone else, drop it in there, and call it a day

The problem with the M9 isn't that they didn't do an overhaul, it's just that the problems/complaints of the M8 weren't addressed, namely the camera picture quality and the black bar. Coupled with the fact that the speakers were weaker, the screen was of lesser quality and the SoC wasn't an improvement over the previous. There was no reason for M8 users to upgrade to the M9 and anyone who wanted an updated M8 is probably better off just getting the M8 when it's arguably a better product for much cheaper.

Just held up my M8 to my computer screen against the 5x. Dimensions are almost exactly the same. Was hoping for a shorter phone. Hopefully the back is made of a soft touch material that's easier to grip than bare aluminum

Ehh...I see where he was tryna go....but NAH. The Verge can Eat a D**k. The reason that the tech climate is like that is BECAUSE apple is held to a different standard. They dont give the other manufacturers a chance to change the game, because no matter what they do, the Apple device will be rated higher just for being an Apple device. It slows innovation and ultimately hurts the consumer.
Like if you are gonna be unapologetically unfair and biased to Apple, why even review anything else? Just pull Apples **** out and suck it twice a year.
