\\ Post Your Car vol. Been a minute //

Wait don't even go into that dealership to negotiate till you understand what people are paying for a car similar to yours. And you never negotiate on a new car off msrp, you negotiate over invoice. You cannot know you got a good deal if you don't know what the dealers cost is; saying you got a good deal and you don't know cost is not a good deal, you just got what you thought was a good deal.

That Hank Hill effect.

Hopefully you all saw that episode.

Can you give a quick mock scenario?

finally was just warm enough for me to wash my car today. was washing it every week/every other week when it was warmer, but it's been a couple months since I last washed it...

I noticed a lot of imperfections since the last time I washed it. lots of rock chips on the hood and front bumper (only had a couple before) and some random like scrape marks...like not scratches, but there's a mark there in a straight line in a couple places. kind of made me sad...is there anyway to fix stuff like that? there's no way to see it from a few feet away, but since I was up close eyeballing the whole car, I noticed everything.

For rock chips, Dr. Color Chip really works well.

Lot of scratches if they dont catch your nail when you do the nail test can be buffed out or worse case wetsanded out.

To get the best deal do the following....

1. Do not walk into any dealership except to test drive the car you like.Try to test drive the car the closest to what you want. Just test drive and leave. Tell the sales man you will email him.

2. Go to edmunds.com and spec out the car exactly the way you will be buying it. This will give you the dealer cost. Edmunds will tell you what people in your area are paying. I generally offer 3% over invoice on high end cars; I do not buy domestic nor really mid level cars, so I don't know what the going deals are on them, but you can find out by googling "lease deals on (insert car of choice)"

3. Email your interest to buy said car to all local dealers and those in near by states. Only communicate by email till you get the person who will give you the deal you want.

4. After you get the deal you want make the dealer closest to you match it or find another dealer in your queue and have him beat the price even by a half percent. Don't fall for the ole we need to make money. They are still making money from the manufacturer, they are just not making the icing.

That is how you negotiate a NEW car purchase price.... If you are financing that is a whole other discussion and explanation

Thanks. My next car (Shooting for Charger RT/SRT) I'm heavily considering just saving up the money. Judging by what I see on TrueCar, I'd be saving THOUSANDS if I could pull that deal off. :x Repped.

My POS.

291539

Nice, I have a pos like that too

I'd do away with the wing as well. Beautiful car regardless.

I miss this POS. Haven't driven it since Nov. 1st. :nerd: :wow: :\

New wheels this on the way. :smokin

He was speaking if buying new.

If you bought from someone with an auction license he would charge you a fee for that. I have connections to an caution license. It is harder to buy used than it is new; pricing becomes far more subjective to many variable factors.

Time to upgrade for me. I've been driving a 2004 honda accord now for 6 years. Can anyone recommend me a nice luxury car they like or have enjoyed driving for around 35K...

I am looking to test drive as many as possible until i find a car i love.

I PM'd you, but I would definitely consider a 2013 Accord Touring with that budget... Of course I may be a bit biased being a 2013 Accord Sport owner myself. :pimp:

It's actually quite functional but adds a bit of drag to the car. It's okay since it's not a dedicated track car.

@JetLyfe, they are reps.[/quote]
What reps do you have?

My rate is about 2% so having good credit is always a must

Rates are usually lower on new cars tho right?

I think I coulda got into the 3%s if I had went to the credit union but time was of the essence when I copped my whip they're getting me for around 5%

Not sweatin it too much tho because I won't keep the car for the duration of the terms. Next yr I'm in that CLA or an SUV

Yea usually lower but in this market they are def. competitive if you buy used as well

Check Bank of America, they usually have good rates

They gave me 2.37% and Citizens beat it when I had Land Rover run my credit

Yeah I told the dealer I am a BOA customer and I know I will get the 2.54% they were offering at the time.. He just had another bank match it and I was good to go.. Never even ran an app with BOA

good credit is needed when buying a car but if your credit is not so good just buy more equity in the car and negotiate to the lower interest rate.
