if thats ur concern why didnt u get the tdi? im curious because my uncle had a tdi and put 170k miles on the diesel in 3-4 years and said that it was flawless and he got around 40 mpg with normal maintenance.

Didn't get diesel because of the higher maintenance and issues living in new England when it gets cold.........not worth the extra cost. I went with the 2.5 dead reliable engine before the switch for 2014. Also I couldn't do tdi......when it's same cost as gli. Like I said didn't want premium. This car is good for now. An I love the style an subtle mods make it real clean to me. Long as I can do 80mph hwy I'm good. Speed will come later in life.

as long as ur happy thats gucci

hope the new m5's are more reliable than the previous ones. those things can put up crazy numbers though. congrats man.
The v10s have problems :nerd:? I wanna pick one up after college, that v10 is too sweet

Heard da v10 has weak components that

Comprises da engine overtime, but im betting on

Da twin turbo V8 being alot more faulty and alot more

Costly to fix onve something goes bad...BMWS just

Have bad reliability streaks....

I think someone needs to stick to keeping their MetroCard balance in order as opposed to consistently giving incorrect information/assumptions. Still confusing reliability issues with (isolated) poor maintenance I see...

the v10 m5's had a lot of problems from what I remember reading. I remember considering one and wondering why all the used prices were so friggin low. there were same year m3's that were going for more with the same mileage. pretty sure the smg transmission was the reason why. almost guaranteed to fail every so often and costly to repair.

I also wouldn't trust the new m5's twin turbos after seeing/hearing about all the problems the 335's had, but I would hope they've got some stuff figured out by now to hopefully prevent those same issues from occurring.

Some people say after the 2006 e60 they worked out most of the kinks. But idk I think the main problem with used BMW is the ppl that buy em new get too cheap and neglolect maintenance and the ppl that buy used get screwed. Like for example I have a friend who got a new e350 but puts in 87 octane. Its not major but still the engine is not designed for 87 octane

Go ask those owners about how it rides.

And they will all tell you the same thing...... it rides like *****.

There's no way I will lower my Jeep because I live and drive in Manhattan. I will need a front bumper replacement within a week. :x

No you woudnt. Stop it.

You be feeling your SRT a little too much at
times.

FDR is NOT that bad to the other poster who mentioned it.

10000th post in this thread :smoking

not sure if the bmw's problems stem from poor maintenance since some of the cars I was looking at were still under warranty and had free maintenance still left.

You're telling me how the roads are in my neighborhood in Manhattan? I live in the Chelsea/Meat market (pause) part of Manhattan. Where they have the uneven/cobble stone streets. A lot of the streets have o.d. dips in them. And at my stock height the front bumper scrapes. Tomorrow I can go take a picture if you would like. If I had the eibach kit I would be lowered another 1.5ish inches. At that height it would be much easier to crack the bumper.

Go talk to other Jeep SRT owners in the NYC area who are lowered and quite a few of them will tell you they have front bumper damage because of the roads here. I rather not deal with EVERY single dip, pothole etc damaging my bumper.

Before you come trying to correct what I say, know about the vehicle. Every vehicle has its things that you do and dont do. One thing you dont do is lower a Jeep SRT with these bad roads.

And LMAO at the FDR not being that bad. Have you ever taken the Northbound 96th street exit? Or what about the stupid deep manhole before the Northbound 61st street exit? Or what about the dip around 23rd street (Northbound)? Oh and how about the huge pothole in the far right lane when you go up the raised up portion of the FDR when you want to go the BK bridge (southbound)? And lastly, how about the series of potholes at the Southbound end near the Gov. Island ferry?

And you were free and clear of bumper damage to the bottom of the front bumper? You rarely hit bumpstops on bumps? I doubt it.

The stance scene is huge not doubting that but most of the owners complain of issues because of the roads here. Lowering looks great but I am not doing it here. Lived here all my life. Been driving in Manhattan since 16. These roads suck. Roads here put a beating on the suspension components and if you are slammed, probably your bumper.

Scuffed up my G35 today :frown: I'm thinking of just replacing the bumper since the bottom is kinda banged up anyways from the previous owner (I found a ivory pearl Sport one for around $200 on CL).

Can someone recommend me what to do on the upper fender panel (above the bumper)? It seems small enough to use touch up paint on...? Would it buff out? Should I take it to a shop? Help is appreciated!! Thanks!

Don't attempt to use touch up first, try using some rubbing compound. It doesn't look too bad, and it should come right off.
