Gawd...

To my Bimmer folks on NT.

I want to get my girl a 320-328 for her 30th...Nothing extravagant..only thing I will splurge on is making sure it has navigation and xenon headlights (why lights aren't standard, I don't know) but, what should my target price be? Messing around on the site, I came out at about 42k for an alpine white...done some research and some have gotten a lease for 35k OTD. Alpine white with grey/black interior is what I'm looking for. Thanks in advance.

Old GLI bodystyle and wheels>>>>>>>>>New GLI

Thats just me though, are they still fwd?

I remember racing my boy in my Altima coupe back in the day

42k is just msrp, after you build it did you click to have a price sent to you by a local dealer?
i know my bmw was like 6k less then what the website quoted me, granted i ordered mine

I did not. I will do it now. I wanted to see what most people were paying to make sure I go in and demand that number.

Buying used does save you a lot of money from the depreciation cost.  VW cars seems to be really notorious at taking a lot of depreciation.

Does anyone have any experience in getting a certified pre-owned VW?  I'm looking at the CC, and the price difference is really substantial.  A 2012 VW CC can be purchased for around 20k compared to mid 30k for a brand new 2013.  I am a little worried about the reliability and maintenance cost.

I always felt VW were the most taken care of out of the german family. Look how many old VWs you see on the streets still. A car that is one year old less than 10k miles still has a lot of life. If you are looking to sell it in a year then maybe it isnt the car for you but for someone looking to hold on to their car its a great buy imo.

The only negative i can see is the warranty i think the gli is 30k miles so look into the CC it might be the same.

I just bought my wife a 2010 CC. We got top dollar for our 2008 Jetta on trade. We bought it for 13k 2 years ago and they gave us 9k. It had 77k miles at trade. They are very well taken care of. We did buy both certified used with the additional 2 year warranty.

Vw/Audi cpo is good
Also never get a cc new the depreciation on them is terrible.

Nobody really wants a 30k+ VW......especially when it's not even a performance car.

I like CCs a lot but facts are facts. Worse VW model for depreciation.

Also 12 and 13 are 2 diff bodies, I assume you know that though. I test drove the 4motion vr6 CC before almost got but mileage was too high. Consider that cpo. Blast to drive and more power. Harder to find though.

yea im eyeing a few 2012 jetta ses for under 15k right now. but it looks like the cheaper ones are further away from the tri state. im not about that 8+ hour driving life. i did it for maryland because i had to fight a ticket over there..... it sucked lol

Be aware of the trim levels of the se. You want at least conveinence package. Not that entry level crap that comes with hub caps. If you can find that under 15k and cpo with decent miles....worth the trip.

Only if they made the Jetta in AWD. Like the look of the new ones. Right now thinking about getting a new Impreza wagon in a few months. Need something that can haul my *** up to the mountains and like to keep it under $22k tops

go to truecar.com, option it out the way you want and see what other people are paying for the car.

This!
I used USAA which is basically truecar, used the "target" price as a starting point and bargained to add more options, ended up paying 82% ($7800) of MSRP on a new car (G37S), not to say all cars are incentivized like Infinitis but worth a shot

Ppl have been wantin a 4motion jetta for a while....thatd be awesome. Also.....it wouldn't be cheap.

beast, i seen a blacked out one flushed with some offset wheels in my state. looks sick in person. made me slick want a genesis :smokin i see too many hondas on the road, si's tl's and tsx's in particular.

MAN! This makes me want to pull a trigger on a Hyundai. Even the Genesis Sedan is tempting for some great priced Luxury.

yea ive noticed it. the thing is i want a camry hybrid xle for the mileage and the jetta was my way to it but at my current financial state, i would be more comfortable with the insurance/monthly on a jetta.

theres a dealer in queens that has a nice one for 13k. ive read the reviews on the place and the customers said that they will only honor the internet price if its through finance, through cash they shoot up the price a few grand. now i never financed a car before and it seems like they want gonna charge some crazy APR on this. should i give it a shot?

Give it a shot but I doubt it's 13k. It's to just bring you in. Hate dealers like that.

the Genesis interior is nice, at least on the older ones when i sat it one :pimp:

i bet they are much better now
