IMO the GTO is def a modern sleeper thanks to its benign and extremely dated styling. I hear alot of people say they look like bloated cavaliers, but Ive always thought they look alot more like a Dodge Stratus. They blend in with traffic much better and go alot less noticed than any of the new-gen muscle cars, even 04 chargers... Hell even a base 1998 era Camaro/Firebird is more eye catching than a GTO.

I don't know man. That car is loud enough that anyone could tell that its about business.

Every one I see on the street sounds like a beast.

ordered these today. quick an easy mod. gonna order my wheels soon. just gonna go 17s with slight drop. only doin subtle mods

after that GLI tails an ill prob change the headlights the last thing

keepin tint light and legal and im not sure if i wanna debadge and plasti dip the emblems black

That Chevelle wagon if I recall correctly could have been ordered with a 454 big block and a 4 speed....

That would be an awesome grocery getter/sleeper....


But you would hear it a mile away....

Alright so we know our posts have slowed down over the past few weeks… well we have been busy working on some big things for Canibeat behind scenes, and preparing for Import Alliance which is now only a month away! I assure you the quality of our features and photography will only continue to get better!


Every once and a while I come across a car that is truly unique, a car that I would normally never consider owning and I find myself thinking “Damn! Now that’s badass!” Recently I have had the pleasure of working with Colton Burns, owner of this beautiful Pontiac GTO and the talented photographer OJ Santiago. Some of you may remember Colton’s last car, the Acura TL with its flat black paint and unique Work VS-XX’s with wrinkle black spokes and gold barrels/lips. Well he sold that to his good friend earlier this year and bought the GTO back in January. Started modding it in March, got carried away again, and he’s not done yet…

Probably the most controversial part of this car, which also happens to be my favorite part, is the aggressively spec’d CCW LM20′s and lower ride height. It may not be low in comparison to some cars that we post but Colton has certainly taken the road less traveled in the GTO community let alone the domestic community as a whole. I have always liked the lines of the later GTO’s however if there’s one thing I have noticed its that I have never seen one with wheels that I like…until now!

The GTO is just waiting on a carbon fiber rear diffuser, side markers to replace the
GTO badges which are en route from the UK, and some small odds and ends for the
nitrous setup. Those are Colton’s plans for the immediate future but this definitely will not be the last time you see this car on Canibeat!

Future Plans

Getting inch larger outer barrels for the front, bigger race tires in rear and
front, and adding milled cnc trickflow heads asap. Car should make
530/500tq to the ground with that, then nitrous puts it over 700 whp.
So a 9 second daily driver if I get it to hookup

Def a sleeper in terms of unexpected performance.

IMO a "true" sleeper wouldn't have as many aesthetic mods extended fenders, Rims etc.

Are they still putting out the Mazdaspeed version?

I have a thing for hatchbacks/wagons so I didn't really mind the previous 2 generations of the Mazda 3.

i would think so. i dont like the single gauge setup in the new mazda. but the styling is otherwise clean. the new mazda6 is fire imo. they are def heading in the right direction.


hopefully subaru can get it right with the new wrx...i suspect there wont be a wrx hatch anymore...
