hartmann wheels for example are respected and accepted in all communities. Vw, Audi, Benz, Porsche, bmw.

Hartmannwheels.com if you wanna better look

Quality Reps exist.

comparing 8,7,6,5 thousand dollar "real" rims to buying the $1500-$2000 replica rims and comparing that to $160 jordans or $30 jordens at that swap meet are two completely different things and if you cant understand that then your parents must of bought you your car
Amen.

For god sakes, Enkei has used some older Japanese companies wheel designs. A replica of a wheel from another country. But many car companies use Enkei to manufacture their stock rims.

people knockin rep wheels now? SMH

a wheel is a wheel, if they look good im copping. of course its good to buy the real thing but especially for mopars they only have replica viper wheels. they dont make the actual things except for the viper

Type of wheel & material/process >> brand of wheel

I always thought that **** wild irrelevant, especially

When you drive older cars that depend on

reproduction wheels...worry bout da tech/material

Of da wheel & tire, brands come second.

We had a guy in here many pages ago who worked for adv1 wheels. Said he hook up the NT group buy. Where is that dude now?

Damn what a mess over some wheels
laugh.gif

Comparing shoes to wheels?? Come on now don't show your ignorance...

Some of these dudes bashing reps are probably still rocking their stock hubs.

I have legit BBS now and from my previous STI and there wasn't a night and day difference between those and the reps.

One thing that contributes to breaking a wheel is having a low profile tire on there and trying to stretch the **** out of it... that don't help you when you hit that big *** pothole lol

 Or maybe I've never bought a pair of replica wheels?

Ever thought of that?

IMO- there is nothing wrong with reps. Haters gonna hate but whatever. Still a clean looking wheel, it's funny because everyone here acting like they know wheels like they know Jordans. I'm pretty sure no one here was able to tell that my wheels weren't legitimate Work Equip 03's, there is in no way from any picture that I posted you can tell they are reps. There is only 2 ways you can tell in person, but I'm pretty positive MOST people here don't know.
Haters gonna' hate? I still don't get why people always resort to that line. An opinion on something doesn't necessarily mean one's envious. Just be thankful that your posts are even being entertained...

If you're saying one couldn't notice the difference between your 1-piece knockoffs to that of a 3-piece step lip (standard or deep), you're fooling yourself. I think no one questioned them simply because they already assumed they weren't authentic...

This.

This as well...

I would never shell out big bucks for any rims... works. Hhr. Bbs. Etc.

With the exception of vossens gimme the knock offs all day. Forged. 3 peice. Dont matter

At the end of the day im not worried about a few lbs or better craftsmanship because ttheexpensive wheels bend n break as well... so get the cheapies i say and when u **** en up go back stock or buy another set... but 3...4...5k? For wheels?. Ludacris

If you live in the North East those knock off rims corrode badly...

Previous owner had knock off C5 thin spokes on my car and by the 3rd year of ownership they were worthless...

You get what you pay for.....

I can understand where paying X amount of money on rims can be a bit excessive, but rims & tires are items that one should never compromise. These are the only facets of your vehicle working together that are physically touching the road...

Never get no cheap rims or tires , if you can't afford the real thing save up till you can or its not meant for you , I've never lived by the fake it till you make it in any circumstance so ill be the fool that'll spend the 16k on some rims and tires as opposed to 4k but that's just me .

im comparing it as something we can all tell if you buy replica "BBS" rims that say BB5 instead of BBS you dont think people who know about cars will notice?

like somebody rocking jays saying "air jorden" and saying oh nobody will be able to tell
mean.gif

im against replica rims as i have witnessed first hand the shoddy craftsmanship if you guys want to put your life at risk go for it id rather ride stock than replicas

The people who shell out thousands for work wheels, bbs, volk, advan, etc do it for shows and meets to show that they have the real thing. I dont see the point either in shelling out $3k for wheels when $1k or less can do the same job. I wont knock someone for rocking Rotas or XXR's. Enkei seems to be very popular middle of the road wheels. Varrstoen's are pretty popular that give the Volk look without the price tag. Nobody is coming up to you and knocking your wheels unless they have serious issues themselves.

This , the reason one cost more than the other is because of the craftsman ship and quality they put their name on it and that means something those knock offs are just looking for a quick buck off someone's else's work while cutting corners and skipping on materials and quality . This reminds me of when spinners, 100 spokes , and Dayton's came out and the ballers on a budget were struggling to find variants of the real things and matching different tire sizes and what nots while the people that could afford them didn't even sweat it ,they went to shop and copped a set with tires for 18k and was riding an hour later

Dude apparently knows the market for automobiles & why people purchase them yet can't distinguish the difference regarding that of replicas. Ninja, is that you?

Some posters in here actually make sense while most are horrible back-trackers and/or have very little knowledge of cars aside from using Google...

 Or maybe I've never bought a pair of replica wheels?

Ever thought of that?

So I have little knowledge of cars just cause I don't know whats good with replica wheels?

I hope you're not this big of a douche in real life
You don't have to purchase replicas to get an idea of what most are composed of. This goes for anything replica, variant, etc...

The key point I'm trying to make: Use common sense...

Your previous post was basically a regurgitation of what most people already know. You could have summed that up in 2-3 sentences instead of going on a useless tangent name-dropping cars. Even then, you brought up 2 examples. One being a modest billionaire while the other, a high-schooler dreaming for an Evo. How about Ralph Lauren and his stable of Classics & Exotics? What about that dude that upgraded from his '99 Civic to an E46 M3 because it's now affordable? What about the guy that dropped his Abflug Supra for a Murcielago because his funds were right? Do you understand why most consumers tout your list of 90s imports so much? They inevitably have that stigma of being within financial reach at one point-in-time. Essentially, an attainable 'unicorn'. However, priorities change. I certainly don't look at NSXs or Supras the same way as I did before. Beautiful cars, but I'm past that Super Street phase. Just looks like you're getting mad because I (or others) don't see particular vehicles as "special" as you do all while saying "let people like what they like". Financial status changes that scenario regardless if one's doing it for himself/herself or for others...

I can make long posts about things people already know too...

Whats sad is, even with my "useless" rants, you still don't get the point I was making.

You're stuck on the names I dropped, rather than the ultimate point.

Dudes were in here talking about "Nah man, **** the Challenger, american cars are trash, my inifiniti can smash that, I got x y z car, blah blah blah".

Ain't nobody mad  , Its fine that YOU are past that "phase" but its not a phase to everyone. Thats what you're misunderstanding bruh. To some people thats just what they like... To you it may be "I'm going to whip this G37 around until I can cop me an M6" but to someone else, the G37 is cool enough. They love they way it looks and thats fine with them.

I follow a guys blog called Grand Mighty. The dude has driven a bunch of cars and most recently went from his BMW back to an RX-7. Why was that? Because different people are into different stuff. In your head it might be a "phase" or you might have grown out of it. But just like I said in my previous posts, different people like different ****. Don't assume that just because its a phase for you that its a phase for everyone.

I never said the opposing side was wrong for liking what they like. I said don't attack others for being into something different than you.

I guess you still don't get my point though, even though I regurgitated it like 3 times... If you KNEW that, you wouldn't be responding with stuff that supports my point.

EVERYONE'S DIFFERENT.

If you like some **** I'm not into, cool. Whatever. But I was trying to be a peacemaker to stop the whole "***/Euro > American/Hemi" debate...

I think this thread is bout to be veryy happy with me saturday... dealer jus called n said a guy cancelled his redline r/t n white... its on the lot and theyll let me switch for a nominal fee.... lets see if it makes itnto the weekend.its white with red leather  the hemi is whatever

So, again, you post things people are well aware of. (What? Everyone's different? That's preposterous!) Like I said, just looks like you're mad that I or others don't see particular vehicles as elusive and/or classics as you do while going on mini-rants. Not my problem...

my understanding is a high quality rim will bend, but a low quality rim will crack. I've cracked and bent oem BMW wheels. I currently have a set of forged monoblock agetros on 315/25/23s. they are light and seem strong. I've hit some major potholes very hard and they are still true

 whatever guy. We're done here. Your initial response to me was pointless. We're saying the same damn thing from opposite sides.

It wasn't your problem to begin with, so why did you quote me from the start?
