\\ Post Your Car vol. Been a minute //

Naw... They need to jus put a six in it and call it a day... If the car has to become slightly larger as a result for balance purposes thats fine...

I imagine it could look like this...

Oh i got to check out and drive my buddies new 09 M3 this morning.  I'm sold, absolutely sold. Evo is dead to me.

That would have been waaaay too heavy and completely destroyed the weight distribution and handling characteristics of the car. The GT86 is intended to be a revival of the AE86 Corolla, a moderately quick handler that's easy to slide out and doriftu if that's what you want to do. I'd love to see more manufacturers follow suit with inexpensive, low powered, entry level, rwd sports cars. The MX-5 is pretty much it's only direct competitor. I'd like to see Nissan bring back something along the lines of the SX, which it looks like they might be doing with a 4cyl variant of the Z.
I think if the Toyabaru had a 3 or 4 cylinder
with a turbo it would be better. More potential
for mods w/o the added weight. Superchargers
cost bread.

Yeah, from the jump I always said they should have offered a top trim turbo variant. I heard the were planning one, but also heard it was going to be an AWD 4 door... in which case I don't see why someone wouldn't just go with the STI.

i hate that Toyota didn't put an in-line 6 in it

an aluminum inline 6?

idk man I've driven one and been passenger many times its too slow to be sport car

If they were to use an i6, they may as well just use a v8. I6's are surprisingly heavy. BMW aluminum block i6's outweigh many v8 motors. I6 engines also have a very high center of gravity, especially when compared to the low slung boxer 4 in the GT86, further messing up the cars handling characteristics.

By definition, sports cars don't need to be fast. Their objective is a fun, responsive driving experience and good handling, all of which the GT86 does pretty well. There are many good reasons they went with the engine choice they did.

 I hear ya, but remember... The Supra wasn't a sports car as much as it was a grand tourer. There's a reason the most common track you'll see these things on is the drag strip.

Met up with my buddy today and snapped some shots of his MS3.

Wow i am just now noticing by looking at my pictures that my tires on my new rims say "Evo" on them

Yea, initial costs will be part of it. I was thinking more along the lines of this car probably becoming a classic.

Both may play a role.
Oh yeah it seems like most BMW enthusiasts like it. I wish I had other M models to compare it to. I like the E3/46 but I don't think they can **** with the E9X.

Entry-level vehicles are more of a badge-floss. Gas mileage is not good on performance vehicles, as well as maintainance.

Badge flossing would be leasing a 2015 entry-level 4 series BMW. Or buying an AM V8 vantage.

It's actually wise to buy a high-performance/luxury vehicle, slightly used with low mileage. You let the guy before you take the biggest hit on the depreciation.
i understand the concept of buying it used..
I didn't say everybody.

He mentioned ///M's being a badge floss, and I simply stated that an entry-level would be considered more of a badge floss. The high-performance versions of any vehicle would be more for enthusiasts.

I.E. a V12 Vantage.
But the more high performance version would be a m5 or 6 tho

I looked at the E63/64 M6 briefly while I was searching for a E92 and I could have got one in the same range as what I paid but for some reason I don't think the body is aesthetically pleasing like the 3. I know the engine is a beast but it looks gaudy to me for some reason.

My little stable. Jeep Overland & BMW 328i. The Overland is my 1st American vehicle and Jeep did a bang-up job with the overall design. Just sold the P38 Range Rover (last jpg) because it was starting to behave like a red-headed British stepchild...miss that tank. The 328i is a mod progress in the making and is my 4th Bimmer, can't stay away from 'em.
