\\ Post Your Car vol. Been a minute //

I'm ignorant of how it's like in Alaska. Can you aware me of why there's a big car scene there?
Just seems like a random place to have a car scene Lol.

I was thinking it's be like Hicksville but with snow. No offense.
No offense taken.  Alot of pepole just dont know much about Alaska.  Anchorage is just a normal "big" city just like anywhere else but its still small.  As far as why there is a scene here its just there is alot of car enthusiasts.  Dont get me wrong there are alot of trucks but hickville is in other towns. Everyone should come see alaska at least one time in their life.

Heres another pic I found online on one of the car forums here in Alaska.  That R34 is literally spotless.

damn.......

Are cars like Supras and Skylines cheaper in Alaska (like they are in Canada) than they are in the 48 states? Or is everyone in that car scene just ballin out?

and are the Skylines legal there?

but im looking for a forged option.

Good man!

unfortunately i cant help you though. They look familiar but i can't think of it

The only thing i can find is wedsports and hre "advanced metal forming" or "flow form" wheels but idk about all that jazz.

I want something light and strong as i don't plan on having to buy another set of rims for this car as long as I have it.

Hahaha.  No fellas they arent cheaper.  Alaska is part of the United states so we dont get special deals here.  If anything everything costs more in regards to cost of living.  As far as the Skyline it is legal from what I know just dont know how the guy did it.  I got my supra in San Diego when I lived in Arizona for a short while.  Then I shipped it to Alaska when I decided to move back.  Heres another pic I found with a white supra meet we did here.  As of now I think theres like 10-12 supras.

Also check out this vid.  This is another alaska supra that was on a burnout contest.

Yes, that's basically what I want to know too. Are people in Alaska just rich? Lol
Alot of money here. But there is rich and poor just like everywhere else.  Oil, real estate etc.  Im in sales and I do ok.
Are you Mario Chalmers?

Haha.  No.  But I did go to High School with him.  He was a freshman when I was a senior.

not many better sounds in the world than a high HP supra burnout

and i guess if the laws and everything in Alaska are like the rest of the US, that Skyline is not legal

Thats what I was thinking.  Everyone asks about how he got it here but no one really knows.

dat 2016 that's about to drop with body kit

I still prefer 2015 front end

The only thing I'm jealous of is the LED headlights and fog lights and wood trim. The grill reminds me of a civic every time I look at it and the new wheels are :x Prefer the wheels on my 2015. The Civic Type R though, that is another story.

A sealant and a wax serve the same purpose but have slightly different properties. Sealants are usually synthetic and need to be applied directly to the paint surface to bond correctly. They tend to have better longevity compared to a wax. A good quality wax will be carnauba based. It can be applied to directly to the paint surface or layered on top of a sealant. Both offer protection and shine. Sealants usually have better longevity and waxes often provide more depth. Can't go wrong with either (or both) if they are quality products.

i wouldnt use clay unless ur gonna hit it with a legit polish (with a buffer) afterwards. claybar leaves tiny scratches everywhere

This is true. I always use a clay bar before applying a wax because the clay removes impurities embedded in the paint surface that washing just can't remove then I always do a machine polish after claying and before waxing/sealing.

Why is Carnuba wax better than say Meguiars? I was planning on polishing the paint after running the clay bar after to remove any swirls.

Thanks bro. Yup those are Alaska plates.  Pretty decent car scene here

Oh really? Alaska is so mysterious to me.. a place I'd deff want to check out.

What city is the car scene at?

Don't forget the sunscreen. Went to both last year and it hurt just to blow my nose by the end of the day lol but it was well worth it.

Dang! When I was there a couple weeks ago, it was nothing but overcast and 60's.

..

Around 7pm today I went to san mateo to pick up some vietnamese sandwhiches, here are all the awesome cars (exact colors too and order of appearance) I got to see in a less than a 10minute drive. Was pretty staggering! #siliconvalley

blue/white stripe viper gt-s, white sls amg, grey f80 m3, white e92 m3, silver 370z (still an enthusiast car), dark blue gt500 (5.4L not the 5.8), porsche boxter spyder, blue 135i

Well when you're out in the sun for 9+ hours it can get pretty hot. I'm sure the sun will be shining for the most part.

hey bros omar wanted me to posted that he is now banned permanently from NT. the last straw was when he quoted retro707 asking if rex was his papi. a couple of NTers reported him. omar feels highly disappointed that he got banned from his favorite forum and thread. also he said that dank was the realest one in here and if anybody wants to hit him up to snapchat him at @guccimania.

Shouts to Omar, always enjoyed his posts, sad that some took offense.  Hopefully we will see him back soon, will miss you bro :nthat:

Ordered a set of Volk TE37 Super Laps for my red NSX from Evasive Motorsports.  Going to be several pounds lighter than stock wheels even with the upgraded staggered 17 front/ 18 rear sizing (stock 16 front/ 17 rear).  Going with white, shouts to Nelson for the idea to go white wheels on the red car.  Contemplated a few mesh wheels like CCW Classic vs. CCW LM20 vs. BBS LM vs. VIP Modular VX110, but in the end felt I would have to be slammed to pull off the mesh look like it should be done.  Opted for the more classic 6-spoke design which should pair nicely with the black NSX on Work Meister's

Sizing will be 17 x 7.5 (+40 offset) front and 18 x 10 (+40 offset) rear.  Hoping for a good amount of concavity :nthat: to the rear with these conservative offsets

I'll post it up when I get them fitted :nthat:

Wheewww! The car pron that has been here in the last few pages :smokin TE37's will look good on the NSX with the staggered set up. Great choice!

yanky yanky Carnuba is the name of the type of wax. It's not the brand. Meguiar's, Chemical Guys, Adam's, etc. all have waxes that contain Carnuba. The difference is usually any other stabilizers or gloss enhancers that a company decides to add. Kinda like cigarettes. There's a bunch of brands of cigarettes but they all use tobacco.

NT help me find WHEELS for the M. I just decided to go with it and change it to my liking.

I will need some input on wheels. I love Rays

I will probably go with H&R Springs for a moderate but not so crazy drop (plus I dont want to lose my stock adaptive suspension with coils)

I will probably go 19 to keep it the same as now.
