\\ Post Your Car vol. Been a minute //

Ive done suspension work with my boy (whos a tech for Toyota so maybe it doesnt count) and installed a few easier mods (intake, shortshifters, etc). I dont consider myself a tech by all means though, still beed to YT everything.

YT is the best

If i had to i would feel totally comfortable rebuilding a engine with only YT and a haynes manual. (if i had the correct tools of course)

How many people in this thread work on their on car? I'm talking more involved than light bulb and oil changes.

Been wanting to ask this but everyone ignores because no STI or M3 :frown:

When I get my Charger, I hope to start doing my own build. Problem is location for me. Don't know anyone with a garage and I live in a townhouse.

Never done any major engine work, but simple aftermarket stuff like coilover installs, radios, body moldings stuff like that.

Coilovers and spring/strut work sounds/looks complicated at first but with a lift and the proper tools its by far one of the easiest mods to do.

Only thing I've done to mine is replaced the shocks/struts and intake. Exhaust was done by a shop and probably brakes too

Yeah, I know.

I've always been willing to do small things but didn't start to tackle engine and suspension work until I had the GTO. I started meeting so many people that are hands-on and know they're stuff and it grew from there. I wasn't sure if many of the newer European car owners were able to do the same because it's getting so complex with modern tech.

Its fun to tinker with your own car and it honestly really isnt that hard if you have the proper tools. Nothig beats a cool summer day fixing up your car with a homie listening to music and drinking some cold brews. I lent him a hand installing his coils and that was a pain in the *** without a lift. Id never do that again.

He has a hatchback WRX. #Cobb :smokin

WCIS knows. Just going along with the joke. I couldn't care less about what someone thinks about me driving that. It would put a smile on my face though. Look at my truck, that thing makes ME happy.

i've almost always done my own work. all the mods during my honda days, including a motor swap in my integra and a ****** swap in a civic.

Did everything on both of my Evo's except for the Cams, valve springs, and tune. Pretty much just always learned either by online how-to's or just by diving into it and figuring it out with common car knowledge.  Injectors and fuel pump swap in the Evo was much easier than i thought it would be.

Honestly i'll probably just pay someone to put the suspension on my M3 though. I'm at the point where doing work like that just pisses me off and i don't really have time for it anyway.  Ill put my exhaust and tail lights on and do all my general maintenance though

You want to buy a LUX kit for the headlights. I feel bad for my NT fam. I traded in my M3 with all my aftermarket parts on it. I could've helped y'all out. Even let my CSL trunk and wrap/exhaust go with the car.

Yup, i love my Lux bulbs, huge difference.

pretty simple install aside from having to stick your hand down into the headlight through a hole that is about the size of.... your hand.  Getting the new bulbs locked into place was a *****

So by my calculations if I move to dade county, people will think I'm bill gates.

Actually only time I've gotten robbed was in Miami, so I'll pass.

But i think my part buying binge is over for now besides buying a front lip soon. since i got the car a month ago i already bought:
Exhaust

Paint matched reflectors

Paint matched grills with black centers (in the mail)

Arkym CF rear diffuser

Lux halo bulbs

Turner spacers

OEM LCI Taillights (in the mail)

KW coilover sleeve kit (putting order in today)

ill get some nice wheels down the road but for now I'm happy with the stocks with spacers.

They kinda sound similar
The v8 m8

Would d8 8/8

I don't really hate or care for any cars like that anymore, besides a few old school cars

But when I was younger I surely did despise WS6, and cameo SS owners with all my heart, those were the most cockiest dudes at the street races, and they always won too :smh: those mustangs were always loud for no reason

Da ls1 was out serving up that pipping hot *** whoop'n eh?

wanna share ?

Maaaaaaaaaaan.

So i'm a jeweler and Miami has one of the bigger jewelry conventions in the US held at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Actually given the circumstances I came out extremely lucky. It was the last day of the exhibit and I was buying stones left and right. I had about 40k cash in my backpack and the last day of the convention is when all the exhibitors are willing to deal before they pack up and go back to their respective cities. So I stopped by the booths of one of the guys i've been working with for a couple years, I blew the entire 40k I brought on some diamonds and colored stones. I even maxed out one of my credit cards. So they were packaging everything up for me and I decided to grab a bite to eat in the meantime. As i'm walking towards the parking area some goons pull up in an escalade and one guy comes from behind me and puts a gun to my head and asks for my backpack. I took it off and gave it to him and he hops into the escalade and dips.

I was pretty scared, first time that's ever happened to me. I think they just scout the jewelry convention cause they know people are walking in and out with money and merchandise. Thankfully I had spent pretty much all of my cash just hours before and I was wearing a jacket and they didn't see my Rolex. All they got from me was an iPad and some beats by dre headphones.

Edit: and also my 2000$ LV backpack. :smh:

Damn man, you're right that could have been A LOT worse though.

**** grinds my gears though. Not much in the world that pisses me off more than thieves.

Damn Miami is like that? You and illicit both got robbed there.

Speaking of Miami are Donks still heavy in the streets there?

That's scary as hell, man.

Yeah man after that I was so ready to leave. I've been back to a bunch of other shows but I just got smarter. I sent all the stuff I bought back to LA via Dunbar (armored car service) and now that's pretty much the only way I do it.

I don't even wear a rolex at shows or carry a bag anymore. Frankly, the risk just isn't worth it.

And I didn't install any of it :pimp:

Lol Im much better at doing other mods that don't involve the engine. Once changed the head gasket on my old VW and that was a *****, but VWs in general can be hard to work on. When I get a house with a garage, proper tools, and an extra vehicle, I'll feel competent doing engine work.

So a coworker of mine is trying to get rid of his 2005 Honda Civic ex with about 180k miles. I've been wanting to get a daily and he just got a mazdaspeed3 so he asked me if I will give him $1k it's mine. What you guys think?
