Well they started the small car/big v8 thing in 65. It's a "pony" car not really a muscle car. And nobody is saying Aston Martins aren't great cars but they definitely didn't influence American muscle

Posting fastback mustangs when Aston Martin has been producing fastbacks since the 50's, influencing a bunch of different older muscle cars and American manufacturers, and other manufacturers across the globe.

If Aston Martin perfected it the company wouldn't have been on the verge of bankruptcy during this time while GM and Ford were 2 of the 3 largest companies in world.
 
Fun fact

Aston Martin was purchased by David Brown in 1947

The DB series of cars are named after him.

He owned the company and their product was named after him and he still drove a Jaguar as a daily :lol:

Inspiration is the wrong word to use, in the STi/Evo case atleast. I highly doubt the Evo's nemesis would take styling cues from it, even though its...there.
